Bastion and Winston, both long-standing heroes in Overwatch 2, deserve more unique skins, especially since their current skins are mostly carried over from the first game.
Junkrat's skins in Overwatch 2 have been controversial, with some being called ugly, making him deserving of an extremely coveted mythical skin.
Ashe's skins in Overwatch 2 have received criticism, and her lack of great options makes her a perfect candidate for a new legendary or mythical skin.
Overwatch 2 has amassed an impressive collection of cosmetics for its heroes. With the upcoming launch of Overwatch 2's 7th season, there is speculation about who will receive the mythical skin. With 38 playable characters in the game, there are plenty of options to choose from.
Overwatch 2 has received criticism for the number of available skins for certain heroes. In particular, the support hero Kiriko has one mythical skin, seven legendary skins, and three epic skins (excluding Overwatch League or Contenders content). This means that she has been dedicated at least two skins every season. While this is great for Kiriko fans, there are other heroes who should be prioritized for skins in the 7th season.
Bastion
The damage-dealing robot has a decent number of legendary skins in its repertoire, but almost all of them are from events in the first Overwatch. The most recent legendary skin is the firetruck skin, which is not part of the Season 6 Battle Pass. Since the next Overwatch 2 mythical skin is expected to go to a DPS or tank hero, Bastion more than deserves something elaborate, especially considering its presence since 2016.
Winston
If the next mythical skin goes to a tank hero, Winston would be a great choice. After all, the super-intelligent gorilla is highly appreciated by the player community for his big heart and humorous lines. Unfortunately, he has only received two legendary skins in the Battle Pass since the launch of Overwatch 2. Perhaps Blizzard could balance this out by giving him the next highly coveted mythical skin.
Junkrat
Junkrat has received more attention in Overwatch 2 than Winston, but his skins have been highly controversial. Although there seems to be enthusiasm for Beachrat, Junkenstein, and King Jamison, all of these cosmetics come from the first Overwatch. One of his exclusive Battle Pass skins, Hong Hai Er, was deemed ugly by various players, while the legendary Junkbot skin was only available in the shop. The explosive DPS hero definitely deserves a mythical skin for his efforts.
Ashe
Although Ashe received a free legendary skin called Snake Wrangler in the Season 6 Battle Pass track, there has been criticism from the player community that most of her skins do not live up to expectations. Typically, players show preferences for Poolside, Little Red, and Warlock, but aside from those, the DPS hero doesn't seem to have many good options. Furthermore, Ashe's Rajin skin had a major design issue in the second season, leading some in the community to label it as "pay-to-lose." Nonetheless, Ashe's lack of "great" skins makes her a perfect candidate for a new legendary or mythical skin.
Torbjorn
Torbjörn's sturdy stature could be one of the reasons why Blizzard has had difficulty designing unique skins for him, although this has never been explicitly stated. The hero with the turret has received some additions since the first season, but apart from the Surf 'n' Splash Summer Games skin, none have truly garnered attention. It seems that Torbjörn lacks truly outstanding skins, which can be easily remedied if the developers choose him for a high-tier legendary skin or the next mythical skin.
It is worth mentioning that this list does not include any support heroes, but Lucio or Brigitte would be a great option for a legendary skin in the 7th season. However, since a support character recently received the mythical skin, it would make more sense for Blizzard to choose a different category in October. Which heroes will receive new skins in the upcoming weeks is still unknown.
Overwatch 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
