Baldur's Gate 3 is rich in content and alternative storylines that technically lead to over 1,500 endings. Despite all these combinations with specific characters and ethical outcomes resulting from your in-game decisions, there are still some storylines that we do not see fully resolved.
These storylines either consist of narratives that were deemed not significant enough to dedicate an entire cutscene to, or resolutions that extend beyond the immediate future in the canon. However, after more than 300 hours of gameplay, we are left wondering what becomes of the main characters and locations we encounter in the story.
8 What Happens To Arabella?
Throughout the game, starting from the first act, Arabella, a tiefling child who was nearly executed for stealing the idol of Silvanus, undergoes a transformation. Through her interaction with the sacred relic, she develops her own powers.
In the second act, we encounter Arabella again and learn that her parents were killed. With Withers' guidance, she embarks on a journey to discover the extent of her magic. After the defeat of the Nethermind, we lose sight of Arabella, and can only speculate on the extent to which she realizes her powers and what she will do with them.
7 Does Mol Take Over The Guild?
The ambitious and thieving tiefling child, initially discovered in the Druid Grove, leads a group of young rogues as Mol while planning to become the undisputed leader of Baldur's Gate's criminal underworld. In the second act, we can observe Mol making a deal with Raphael, who safely transports her and her gang of thieves to Baldur's Gate.
While inside Raphael's house, you can find and destroy Mol's contract, thereby freeing her. However, an ambitious Mol remains, now working for Nine-Fingers Keene, and still asserting her desire to take control one day. Given Mol's persistent yet naive attitude, you can only hope that she becomes what she has always desired.
6 Who Succeeds Gortash As Lord Of Baldur's Gate?
Although there is no definitive answer, one can reasonably speculate on who might assume Enver Gortash's responsibilities after the events of the game. Firstly, if Duke Ravengard is still alive, he would likely return to his position as the leader of the Flaming Fist and the protector of Baldur's Gate.
However, if the population desires a different ruler, the most likely choice would be Councilor Florrick, as she is one of the few nobles who has neither been subjected to brainwashing nor is too naive to understand the danger from the start.
5 Does The Society Of Brilliance Accomplish Their Mission?
While this answer would likely be resolved far beyond the events of the game, one must assume that if you save Omeluum from his fate in the Iron Throne and assist the Myconids in the Underdark, they would be one step closer to their goal of uniting the peoples of the Underdark.
However, as much as one can assume that they have helped, the underworld is an extraordinarily vast space with thousands of factions with unique goals and motivations. We can only hope that Blurg maintains his positive attitude.
4 Is Rolan Able To Surpass Lorroakan?
If you complete the side quests for Rolan and defeat Lorroakan in his tower at Sorcerous Sundries while somehow managing to keep Rolan alive, he will thank you for helping him and promise to bring his family and the refugees into the tower.
However, one wonders what will become of Rolan after the Netherbrain is either destroyed or controlled. Does he now own the tower? How does property transition work in Baldur's Gate, and with the resources at his disposal, will he become as famous a wizard as Lorroakan?
3 Does The Shadow Cursed Lands Return To Its Former Glory?
In certain playthroughs, you can restore the Shadowfell to its original state before Shar turned the place into a corrupted nightmare during the Spellplague. The shadows fade away, and the statue of Ketheric Thorm is surrounded by flowers and nature.
However, can the literal century of Shadow Curse and the destruction of the land by returning settlers be overcome? Will the Last Light Inn become a gathering place for adventurers and bards, or will it remain abandoned out of fear of the persistent curse?
2 Does Jaheira Return To Her Family?
In a unique reunion in the middle of the third act, you can bring Jaheira back to her home in Baldur's Gate and discover her less-than-pleased group of wayward children who are understandably upset about the lack of communication Jaheira had with them, especially during her unexpected absence.
Although you can essentially talk about it, it becomes clear that Jaheira is entrenched in her views and plans to raise her children as she intends. After defeating the Netherbrain, you can only hope that Jaheira returns home, perhaps accompanied by Minsc, and provides the support her family needs from her.
1 Does The Druid Grove Survive Without Halsin?
After leaving the crash site of the Nautiloid and saving the Druid Grove from the goblin leaders, Halsin declares that he is handing over the Grove to a new leader named Francesca, who is unfamiliar to the Grove and may potentially cause controversy among its members.
If you enter into a romance with Halsin, the ending allows you to discuss the next steps with him. He expresses the desire to travel through the lands once affected by the Shadow Curse and gradually repair them. However, what will happen to the Druid Grove? Will they remain loyal to their new leader, and will Kagha return to her old self without Halsin's guidance?
