A leak from Genshin Impact provides hints about the upcoming events in Version 4.2

Recent leaks from Genshin Impact are providing a glimpse into the lineup of events planned for the game's Version 4.2 update, which is expected to be released in early November. Although the Version 4.1 update of the HoYoverse RPG is less than 24 hours away, many fans are already eagerly anticipating the next version of the game. Earlier this week, HoYoverse officially confirmed the highly-anticipated arrival of Furina for Version 4.2, along with the introduction of a new four-star character named Charlotte. The upcoming update is also expected to bring several events to the game, including multiple re-runs.

Although HoYoverse has not yet made any official announcements regarding content for Version 4.2 beyond its featured characters, leaks have already started to provide glimpses of what to expect in Genshin Impact's next update. Early leaks suggest that a new expansion to the Fontaine region's map will be introduced in this version, bringing another harbor to Fontaine. There are also rumors of a new weekly boss being added to the game. The Archon Quest for this update hints at a significant change in Furina's status within the Hydro region. Overall, Version 4.2 appears to be packed with a variety of time-limited content for players to enjoy.

A recent post by prominent Genshin Impact leaker Genshin Intel provides an overview of the planned events for Version 4.2. The main event of the update is said to be a battle event involving a new NPC named Thelxie, who has not been revealed yet. As a reward, players will have the opportunity to obtain a free copy of the Version 4.0 four-star character, Freminet. Additionally, the update is expected to include the return of several popular events such as "Kurious Kamera" and "Misty Dungeon," as well as a new iteration of the recurring "Fungi" events in Genshin Impact. Rumors suggest that Version 4.2 will also introduce a new non-playable character named Skirk, believed to be Childe's master.

In addition to the events, the leak also provides fresh details about the two recently unveiled featured characters for Version 4.2. According to the leak, Furina will possess the ability to utilize both the Pneuma and Ousia elements of Genshin Impact's new Arkhe system, allowing her to switch between them using her Charged Attack. Charlotte, on the other hand, is confirmed to be introduced as an Ousia-aligned character, adding to her previously revealed status as a Cryo Catalyst user. The expected release date for Version 4.2 is November 8.
