A leak in Genshin Impact suggests the possibility of an event re-run in Version 4.3

A recent leak in Genshin Impact suggests that a popular event will make a return in Version 4.3, potentially indicating the arrival of a corresponding re-run banner. Over its three-year history, the beloved RPG from HoYoverse has showcased a diverse range of unique events. Each update introduces a variety of new events, including major flagship events with accompanying stories and multiple mini-games, as well as smaller events focused on combat, traversal, and gathering challenges. Now, an event from the past that garnered popularity is poised to make a comeback in an upcoming update.

Genshin Impact has consistently introduced a wide range of events that bring new mini-games to the RPG, adding excitement to its diverse festivities. Events such as "Ballads of Breeze" and "The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival" have transformed some of the game's most beloved musical compositions into rhythm games. Others like "Fabulous Fungi Frenzy" and "Theater Mechanicus" have incorporated unique twists into Genshin Impact's combat mechanics. In Version 4.3, the highly popular mini-game "Extreme Beetle Brawl" is making a comeback as one of the events in the update.

A new leak shared by prominent Genshin Impact leaker Tao, through fellow leaker StepLeaker, has unveiled the return of the "Extreme Beetle Brawl" event. This event, originally introduced in Version 3.4, involves players engaging in battles against NPCs and other characters using Onikabuto beetles found in Inazuma. Players are challenged to master the unique mechanics associated with these beetles. Beetle battling is regarded as a popular pastime in Inazuma, as referenced by the five-star character Arataki Itto in his dialogue and Story Quest. The Version 4.3 update for Genshin Impact is anticipated to be released around mid-December.

The return of the Inazuma-focused event has sparked speculation about the possibility of Arataki Itto receiving a re-run. Itto's previous re-run occurred just before the introduction of the "Extreme Beetle Brawl" event, accompanying the debut banner of the Wanderer in the first half of Version 3.3. Arataki Itto holds a unique position in Genshin Impact as the most recent five-star Geo character to be added to the game, debuting almost two years ago. While Itto may not have achieved widespread popularity, the oni character has consistently been recognized as one of the strongest DPS options for Geo teams.

Speculations about the "Extreme Beetle Brawl" event and an Itto re-run arise at a time when Itto's reign as the last five-star Geo character may be coming to an end. Leaks from Genshin Impact's Version 4.3 strongly suggest that a new five-star character named Navia will debut as a Geo character, marking the first addition to the Geo element since Yun Jin in January 2022. Many fans have been advocating for changes and improvements to the often perceived weakest element in the game, Geo. Version 4.3 appears to address these concerns by focusing on Geo characters with the introduction of Navia and an event centered around Itto.
