Pokemon GO players have the opportunity to capture Zorua by observing their Buddy Pokemon in the game's overworld, despite it initially appearing as a surprise encounter during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour event.
Due to a bug, Zorua initially inherited the stats of the Pokemon it was replacing. However, Niantic promptly addressed and resolved the issue, ensuring that players can now capture Zorua without encountering any potential stat-related problems.
The unexpectedly high weight of a captured Zorua has left players perplexed, leading to speculations that it could be a glitch associated with Cosmoem's weight. The precise cause of this bug remains uncertain; however, it has no impact on battles, and players can still successfully capture Zorua.
While exploring their local area, a Pokemon GO player manages to capture an exceptionally heavy Dark-type Zorua. Zorua was first introduced to Pokemon GO in October 2022, and players can still catch this Pokemon by carefully observing their Buddy Pokemon in the game's overworld.
During Pokemon GO's Shuppet Spotlight Hour, the Dark-type Pokemon Zorua was introduced as a surprise encounter for participating players. However, an unfortunate bug caused Zorua to retain the stats of the Pokemon it was replacing in the game's overworld. Thankfully, Niantic swiftly resolved the bug, allowing players to capture Buddy Pokemon without any potential stat inconsistencies.
While exploring, Pokemon GO player Fataky had an interesting encounter. They initially stumbled upon a Cosmog that appeared to be very light, but upon capturing it, they were surprised to discover that it transformed into an incredibly heavy Zorua. Fataky decided to nickname their newly acquired Zorua as "XXL" due to its staggering weight of 1324 kilograms, which is approximately 2919 pounds.
Other Pokemon GO players are equally perplexed by the weight of Zorua, and Reddit user A_MAZ_ING speculates that this anomaly may be a glitch or bug related to the evolution of Cosmog. A_MAZ_ING points out that Cosmoem, a Legendary Psychic-type Pokemon, is one of the heaviest Pokemon in the entire series, weighing over 1000 kilograms. Therefore, they believe that the weight of Fataky's Zorua may have mistakenly taken into account Cosmoem's weight instead of Cosmog's weight. This explanation would account for the significant difference in weight between Fataky's Zorua and the average weight of Zorua. However, the exact cause of this bug remains unknown.
The bug in Pokemon GO seems to be specific to the weight of Zorua, but it brings to mind the previous bug that affected Zorua's stats during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour event a year ago. Although Niantic fixed the stat-related bug, there might still be a lingering issue affecting the weight calculations of Zorua when it replaces a Buddy Pokemon on the map. Nevertheless, Pokemon GO players can still capture Zorua in the wild and engage in battles with other Pokemon without concerns about Zorua's stats negatively impacting the outcome of the battle.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS.
