A Pokémon enthusiast creates a gigantic Pikachu artwork using 2,400 Rubik's Cubes - a unique and awe-inspiring way to celebrate their beloved pocket monster.

The pixelated appearance of the image complements the aesthetics of the franchise's older games, lending it a nostalgic charm.

The creation of the artwork required approximately 3-4 hours of rotating Rubik's Cubes and removing stickers to achieve the correct colors and details. This highlights the dedication and creativity of the artist.

Pokemon enthusiasts are likely to be impressed by witnessing a new artwork of Pikachu, created using thousands of Rubik's Cubes. The achievement required considerable effort, but the results are more than worth the time and energy invested.

Pokemon fans never seem to cease in finding unique ways to celebrate their beloved pocket monsters. While traditional 2D art mediums are naturally popular, many go beyond pen and paper or even a digital canvas to bring their favorites to life. Gamers have previously utilized 3D printing, ceramics, and even stained glass as foundations for their fan art.

Now, Reddit user and Pokémon fan Trey_Eilers has shared their creation of a giant Pikachu made entirely out of Rubik's Cubes. A total of 2,400 Rubik's Cubes were used to create an artwork that appears to be approximately five feet tall. By utilizing Rubik's Cubes, the image attains a pixelated appearance that aligns with the aesthetics and designs found in the franchise's older games.

The Pikachu Rubik's Cube art has garnered significant attention from fans who are impressed by the achievement and eager to learn more. Trey_Eilers explained that the first step involves creating the image on a computer to get a rough idea of how the design will look and how many Rubik's Cubes will be needed. They then spent approximately 3-4 hours twisting the Rubik's Cubes to achieve the correct colors on each individual cube before assembling everything into a cohesive image. Rubik's Cubes typically don't have black squares, but by removing the colored stickers, a black outline or black details can be achieved for parts such as Pikachu's ears and tail.

This is by no means the first Rubik's Cube artwork created by Trey_Eilers, as they have stated to actually own over 10,000 Rubik's Cubes, and this was one of the simpler projects they have worked on. Interestingly, the same medium was used to create another piece of Pikachu fan art recently, although that piece was smaller and used 800 Rubik's Cubes to form Pikachu. Considering what Trey_Eilers has achieved with less than 3,000 Rubik's Cubes, some fans might be curious about how a Pikachu could look using the full 10,000 pieces they own.

When it comes to creating fan art, there are no limits. As Pokémon has remained popular throughout the decades, it is likely that fans will continue to discover new and fascinating mediums for their Pokémon artworks.
