A Zelda Twilight Princess fan makes an interesting discovery at Goodwill

During a visit to their local Goodwill store, a Zelda fan stumbled upon a captivating artwork related to "Twilight Princess." While many Nintendo players are currently focused on the recently released "Tears of the Kingdom," this remarkable artwork connected to "Twilight Princess" has garnered attention on the internet, reaffirming the nostalgia felt by many for this classic game.

Even though it's hard to believe, "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" was released over 16 years ago. The game made its debut in 2006 for the GameCube and Wii, introducing players to a visually detailed version of Hyrule. This resulted in Link and the rest of the characters having more realistic designs compared to the cel-shaded cartoon style of "The Wind Waker." At that time, this new artistic style caught the attention of many players and contributed to the game being fondly remembered.

A player named Shadow_Edgehog27 recently came across artworks related to the game while visiting a Goodwill store. According to a Reddit post shared by the user, they found a print related to "Twilight Princess" featuring Link and Midna. Specifically, the artwork showcased a splatter-style of painting, with Midna riding on the back of Wolf Link. In addition to presenting the print, the Reddit user included an image of the back of the frame, which displayed a sticker for the Elizabethan Gallery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Alongside the sticker, various numbers were noted on the back, including one that potentially indicated the original sale price of the print, which was $259.99.

While Shadow_Edgehog27 was eager to share the captivating image with the "The Legend of Zelda" community on Reddit, they also hoped to uncover some background information about the artwork. Fortunately, some users in the comment section were able to discover additional details about the artworks. For instance, one player pointed out that the design seemingly replicated a pose from official Nintendo artwork for "Twilight Princess," noting that the "transformative aspect of the piece" was the splatter effect. Furthermore, another user suggested that Shadow_Edgehog27 should reach out to the gallery mentioned on the back of the frame to inquire if any records of the sale exist there.

This unusual discovery at Goodwill comes at a time when Zelda fans are hoping for a possible release of "Twilight Princess" on the Switch. Although the game received a remastered version for the Wii U in 2016, featuring enhanced graphics and some gameplay improvements, there has been no official announcement regarding a port to the hybrid Nintendo console. Nevertheless, contributions like that of Shadow_Edgehog27 demonstrate that fans still hold fond memories of this installment in the series. Only time will tell if the rumors of a "Twilight Princess" version for the Switch will ever come to fruition.
