Apex Legends Season 20: Breakout - A Wild Celebration with Explosive Changes!

Hold onto your helmets, fellow legends, because Apex Legends Season 20: Breakout is here to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary with a bang! Respawn Entertainment has unleashed a wave of game-changing updates that will leave you on the edge of your seat. From the demise of EVO Shields to a revamped Ranked Mode and an adrenaline-pumping Limited-Time Mode, Season 20 is jam-packed with thrilling features that will keep you hooked.

Get ready to party, because Season 20 is all about celebrating the incredible journey of Apex Legends over the past five years. Prepare for an immersive in-game story experience, an exciting way to get your hands on some Heirloom Shards, and a complete overhaul of Replicators. The game will never be the same again, my friends. So, let's dive into everything we know about Apex Legends Season 20: Breakout.

Mark your calendars, legends, as Season 20 will go live on Tuesday, February 13 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. But before you jump into the action, let me share some juicy details with you.

First things first, don't expect a new legend to join the Apex Games this season. However, fear not, for the existing legends are getting a major upgrade. Each legend will now have a total of four perks to choose from, in addition to their class-based perks. Talk about leveling up!

Now, here's where things get really interesting. Say goodbye to EVO Shields, my friends, because they're being replaced by Shield Cores. These cores can only be looted from deathboxes, meaning you won't find shields in the regular loot pool anymore. You'll start with a white (Common-tier) shield that can't be removed, and it will level up as you deal damage. But here's the twist – you can also earn EVO Points by performing certain actions or using specific map items.

Oh, and shield-swapping aficionados, fret not! While it's a bit more challenging now, you can still pull off this classic move. Just loot a Shield Core from a deathbox and swap it with your damaged shield. It will instantly restore your shield's health, but beware of Shield Cores that are higher level than your shield. They provide temporary overshields, which last for only 30 seconds. So, no mid-fight deathbox diving, my friends.

But wait, there's more! EVO Points still exist, and now they determine when you can level up your legend's shield. As you level up, you'll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of Legend-exclusive perks. This is the single largest change to Legends since the game launched, and it's bound to shake up the battlefield!

Let's not forget the action-packed Limited-Time Mode called Straight Shot. In this mode, you skip the dropship and are immediately dropped into a random point of interest alongside one enemy squad. The ring is smaller, leading to intense, heart-pounding battles. Weapons come fully kitted, but you can only swap or loot optics. No other attachments can be removed. The best part? Once the match ends, you can re-queue instantly for non-stop mayhem!

And what's a celebration without some sweet rewards? Season 20 launches alongside the 5th Anniversary Collection Event. Collect all 24 event cosmetics, and you'll unlock 150 Heirloom Shards! Treat yourself to any Heirloom Weapon or Prestige Skin your heart desires from the Mythic Store.

Console players, rejoice! PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners can enjoy a 120 FPS performance mode, fulfilling a long-standing player request. But that's not all! Get ready to feel every shot with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on your controllers. It's gaming immersion at its finest.

Last but not least, Ranked Mode is getting a makeover based on three goals: Trust, Accessibility, and Fun. Respawn is committed to making the competitive experience transparent, easy to understand, and enjoyable for everyone. Matchmaking is based on RP, and premade squads are now matched based on the highest RP member. Plus, the post-match score page has received a revamp to provide a more comprehensive overview of your performance.

So, legends, strap on your gear and prepare for the wildest celebration Apex Legends has ever seen! Season 20: Breakout is here to shake things up, and it's a party you don't want to miss. Jump into the action, embrace the chaos, and show the Outlands what you're made of!
