Baldur's Gate 3: How do I access the Guildhall?

Navigating through the grand city of Baldur's Gate in the third act of Baldur's Gate 3 can be a dizzying endeavor, replete with numerous buildings and hidden secrets. Among them, a particularly alluring focal point is the Guildhall, serving as the central hub for the city's underground life, accommodating a multitude of merchants and NPCs.

The guild is involved in several important questlines of the game, but finding the entrance to the Guildhall can pose a real challenge. Fortunately, there is more than one way to unveil its gates. This guide aims to demonstrate every approach available to gain access to the Guildhall.

Where Is The Guild Hall?

Baldur’s Gate 3 How To Get Into The Guild Hall

The Guildhall is an underground, vault-like area that houses several important NPCs, merchants, and members of the guild, including Nine-Fingers Keene and Mol.

The official entrance to the Guildhall is located in the Lower City at coordinates (X:60, Y:-100). However, this entrance remains hidden until certain requirements are fulfilled. You can access the Guildhall in the following ways:

Method 1: The Sewers

This method involves the "No Entry, No Exit" back entrance in the Guild Tavern. This entrance is located west of the "City Sewers" waypoint, at coordinates (X:-11, Y:772).

Travel westward from the waypoint until you come across a corridor filled with toxic green gases. To disperse the toxic fumes, activate the lever on the wall using a ranged attack or a thrown item.

Once the fumes have dissipated, jump onto the hole above the lever. Follow the stairs upwards to a door marked as "No Entry, No Exit," and successfully pass a lockpicking (dexterity) test with a difficulty level of 20 to gain entry.

Having difficulty finding the City Sewers? In this guide, you will discover every entrance to the sewers in Baldur's Gate.

Method 2: Aid The Underduke Questline

You can also gain "legitimate" access to the Guildhall by following the questline "Aid for the Subduke."

You can initiate this quest by chance, stumbling upon a battle between guild agents and the Stone King on the coast near Wyrm's Crossing.

From the "South Span" waypoint of Wyrm's Crossing, head west until you reach a beach where two large groups of people are engaged in combat (X:-215, Y:132). If you are seeking an easier access to the Guildhall, you must align yourself with the guild in this battle.

Afterwards, you can visit the entrance to the Guildhall at coordinates (X:60, Y:-100) and speak with the half-orc guard at the entrance to be granted access.

Method 3: Guild Ring

Baldur’s Gate 3 How To Get

If you're not yet ready to start the questline "Aid for the Subduke" but still wish to access the Guildhall, do not worry - you can still do so!

Make your way to the entrance of the Guildhall at coordinates (X:60, Y:-100) and locate a chest in the house directly across the alley. Crack open this chest with a lockpicking test (difficulty level 15) and acquire the Guild Ring.

Return to the entrance of the Guildhall (where a half-orc guard stands) and insert the Guild Ring into the slot on the wall to uncover the entrance.
