The rescue of Duke Ravengard in Baldur's Gate 3 is a mission that spans several acts, putting our remaining patience to the test. Could this man not sit still for a moment and leave the rescue to us? However, at long last, our opportunity presents itself amidst the third act.
Certainly, after all this time, it is no walk in the park to save him. And the further you go, the more problems come flooding in. If you have avoided Mizora and wish to handle things the hard way, here's how. We hope you have brought your snorkel along.
Where To Find Duke Ravengard
In order to locate the Duke, you will have to delve into the shady dealings of Flymm Cargo. If you step inside and venture through the door in the floor, descending all the way down to the cargo hold's basement, you will come across a submarine.
Persuade the dwarven man, Redhammer the Inventor, with sweet words, to accompany you to the Iron Throne.
As you descend, Gortash will contact you via video call and urge you to turn back; decline and continue docking at the Iron Throne nonetheless.
This will anger Gortash. If you intend to align yourself with Gortash or negotiate with him, you cannot proceed with this quest and must turn back.
Duke Ravengard is located within the sinking Iron Throne. You can find him the hard way by searching with your own eyes or by using the handy Scrying Eye device on the west side of the ship.
He is located on the east side of the ship in the central cell.
How To Save Duke Ravengard
Duke Ravengard must be rescued within the six rounds (balanced difficulty level) allotted to you. If this is not accomplished, he will drown along with other stranded victims, including your own characters.
Through all possible means, save Duke Ravengard by hastening to assist him in the eastern corridor. We recommend sending a healer to rescue him while the rest of your group frees the other captives.
If you release Ravengard by operating the lever to the right of his door, you can control him in your turn order. On his turn, move him forward to trigger a special scene with Mizora.
Duke Ravengard will be forced to kneel, wasting the remainder of his turn and hindering your progress. Spiders will emerge behind him, but you can completely ignore them.
Utilize sprinting and jumping to return to the ladder in the central room. Once you reach the ladder, climb up and board the submarine, where he can remain until the end of the Iron Throne scenario.
If you have a potion of speed or haste spores that you can throw, you can accelerate him and ensure the Duke's survival. However, this is not necessary if he is rescued before the end of the third round.
How To Finish Duke Ravengard's Quest
Once the submarine resurfaces with all the passengers, Ravengard will express his gratitude to you for saving his life. He will return to your camp.
To speak with him, return to your camp and find him standing near Wyll's tent. If not already done, make sure Wyll is in your party when you speak to the Duke.
Reconcile father and son through dialogue, and afterwards Duke Ravengard and his followers will pledge to assist you in the upcoming battle. And finally - finally! - you can complete the quest "Rescue of the Duke."
