Bungie confirms that the Crota's End raid in Destiny 2 will include the comeback of the exotic auto rifle Necrochasm.
Players have 48 hours to complete the Raid in Contest mode and receive guaranteed rewards, including the Necrochasm.
Bungie plans to address player complaints about the absence of Stasis mods in the Destiny 2 Season 22 artifact and make changes to the Stasis subclass in Season 23.
Bungie has confirmed that the Crota's End raid in Destiny 2 will bring back the exotic auto rifle, Necrochasm. The "Day One" raid race for Crota's End in Destiny 2 will begin on September 1st, giving players 48 hours to complete it in Contest mode.
Bungie began revisiting its classic raids with the Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer in 2021, followed by the release of King's Fall after the launch of the Witch Queen DLC. Regarding this year's raid, there were some debates within the community as several fans believed that the returning raid could also be Wrath of the Machine. However, several leaks had already indicated that Crota's End would be returning, and Bungie has now confirmed that they will also be bringing back the popular exotic weapon associated with the raid.
In an official announcement, Bungie has revealed that the exotic weapon Necrochasm will be available in the Crota's End raid in Destiny 2. Typically, the drop rate for these raid exotics is extremely low and based entirely on random chance (RNG). However, Bungie is changing things up a bit for Crota's End. This time, there are guaranteed rewards for players who complete the raid in Contest Mode, which includes Necrochasm. To be eligible for these rewards, players must accept a quest called "Bottomless Pit" before the raid, which will be marked as completed for players who finish the raid in Contest Mode, and the rewards will immediately appear in their inventory.
Completing the encounters and triumphs in the raid also grants players a material called Essence of Oversoul, which can be used to complete the "Bottomless Pit" quest if players do not finish the raid in Contest Mode. Additionally, this material is also used to obtain the exotic catalyst for Necrochasm, but players cannot complete the catalyst while the Contest Mode is active. This would also be the first time that Bungie gives a guaranteed exotic item to anyone who completes the raid in Contest Mode. Considering that Crota's End in Destiny 2 is one of the shortest raids ever, many players have the opportunity to acquire Necrochasm within the first 48 hours after its launch.
Furthermore, Bungie's post has also confirmed that Stasis will be a central focus for the upcoming Season 23. This comes in response to player complaints about the absence of Stasis mods in the Destiny 2 Season 22 artifact, which will be addressed shortly along with some overall changes to the subclass.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
