Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 will introduce a new spawn skin and bring back the Zombie Royale mode.

The new season will start on September 27 at 9 AM PT and will be the final competitive period before the release of Modern Warfare 3.

Season 6 will include operator skins based on Skeletor, Evil Dead 2, Hellsing, and a weapon pack featuring the iconic chainsaw from Doom.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 will introduce a striking spawn skin and bring back the popular Zombie Royale mode, along with many other new features. The newly announced season will be the game's final competitive period before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty seasons typically run for about two months. For example, Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 started on August 2nd and is expected to end on September 26th. Activision has now officially announced Season 6, which is set to begin on the following day, September 27th, at 9 AM PT.

The new season will introduce a spawn operator skin based on the eponymous superhero from Image Comics. This addition to the Battle Pass shouldn't come as a big surprise to fans, especially since the collaboration between Call of Duty Season 6 and comics has already leaked online this week. In addition to Spawn, Call of Duty players will soon be able to unlock operator skins based on Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, Evil Dead 2, and Hellsing. All of these skins will be added through limited-time bundles to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. A weapon pack featuring the iconic chainsaw from Doom will also be part of the upcoming seasonal offerings.

Additionally, Season 6 will introduce the first crossover between Call of Duty and Diablo, with Activision confirming that Lilith and Inarius will be added to the operator roster of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. The upcoming season is expected to pick up momentum starting from October 17th, when this year's Haunting event is set to begin. As is tradition, the next Call of Duty Halloween promotion will bring back Zombies Royale, a limited-time mode that allows players to alternate between playing as human operators and zombie-like monstrosities, fighting against each other.

At the beginning of Season 6, two Core and two Gunfight maps will be available. The first pair includes the Mexican villa La Casa and Koro Village, a remake of Toujane from the 2005 Call of Duty 2. While the new multiplayer map retains the general layout of its predecessor, it replaces the distinctive desert town aesthetic with that of a snow-covered village. The upcoming Gunfight maps are King from the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot and Fight, a small shooting range with plenty of close-quarters combat opportunities.

The Haunting event halfway through the season will also introduce temporary map transformations of El Asilo and The Embassy, both of which will serve the overarching Halloween theme. As with the majority of the existing content in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, all new weapons and cosmetics introduced in Season 6 can be carried over to Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
