Once you enter the Neon City in the Volii Alpha star system of Starfield, you can expect a plethora of new activities and tasks awaiting you. One of these tasks will be given to you immediately upon landing, called "Loose Ends." This is the questline you should follow if you want to learn how to craft Aurora.
During "Loose Ends," you will be asked to take care of a person named Felix Sadler. Upon completing this task and returning to Yannick, the quest "Fishy Business" begins, where he asks you to start working at Xenofresh Fisheries to find Neshar's contact.
How To Apply At Xenofresh Fisheries
During the conversation with Yannick after taking care of Felix Sadler, he will ask you if you know how to craft an Amp. Even if you have that knowledge, it is recommended to pretend that you have no idea, as Yannick will give you some items for free. Once you have the items, go to the research lab device in front of him and research "Performance Enhancement 1" in the field of pharmacology.
After you receive the research, follow the blue marker to the Xenofresh office and speak to the receptionist. She will ask you to use a nearby small computer for your application. Your options here are not so important, but you can choose the following to guarantee your entry:
- Scan ID and Apply for Position
- Learning new skills and procedures quickly.
- Doctorate Degree
- Draw Amp's chemical structure.
Speak to the receptionist again, and she will ask you to go to the factory in Ebbside. You can use the blue marker to get there.
How To Work At Xenofresh Fisheries
Once you reach the factory and tell Valentina Gurov that you want to work there, she will immediately hire you and ask you to put on a suit. Go to the "Clothing" section in your inventory, and you will find the Xenofresh Clean Suit there. Follow Valentina once you have put on the suit, and she will take you to the Aurora Production Room.
After some dialogue, she will ask you to produce your first batch of Aurora, with no time limit. Here are all the steps involved in this process:
- Pick up the ingredients from the box that appeared on the moving platform. This will contain seven materials, but you only need the top four. However, taking all the materials doesn't change much even though Valentina says it'll get cut from your pay.
- Once you have the materials, head over to the Pharmaceutical Lab on the left side of this box and craft Unprocessed Aurora there.
- Finally, head over to the Assembly Hopper at the back of the room and interact with it to transfer the Unprocessed Aurora there.
Once you have completed the first batch, Valentina will ask you to create three more, but this time you have a time limit of one minute. The process is quite simple and will not take longer than ten seconds once you get used to it.
How To Find Neshar's Contact
After processing three batches of Aurora, Valentina will allow you to either go to the break room or go home. The break room will be marked with a blue marker, and you will encounter two people there. One of them will be wearing the same suit as you, while the other will be wearing different clothing.
You need to speak with the person who is wearing different clothing, and they will tell you about the cameras installed throughout the factory. They will quickly mention that the cameras don't work most of the time and then talk about Neshar. After a brief conversation, they will mention that they can give you the coordinates of a package at the end of each shift.
How To Deal With Benjamin Bayu
When you return to the bar to report everything to Yannick, you will find Benjamin Bayu waiting for you there. While talking to him and selecting some dialogues, he will give you a few options to choose from:
- This is Yannick's show, not mine.
- People are practically beating down his door for more Blend.
The first option may seem like you're throwing Yannick under the bus, but unfortunately, this is one of those illusion of choice moments in Starfield. Regardless of which option you choose, Bayu will ask Yannick to give him 20 percent of what he earns and leave the place.
