In the initial stages of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, your primary objective is to ensure the safety of President Myers. However, a significant obstacle in this mission arises in the form of a formidable robotic adversary known as the Chimera. Serving as the first boss encounter in the DLC, the Chimera poses a substantial challenge to overcome.
Initially, the large mech is initially on your side thanks to Songbird's interference. However, the situation quickly changes, and it turns into your adversary. Consequently, you and the President must confront this massive and heavily armored robot. As anticipated, this presents a significant challenge. Nevertheless, the following information will assist you in surviving the encounter against this formidable creature.
Phase One
As soon as the battle commences, the game promptly directs you to target and destroy the weak points of the Chimera. These vulnerable areas are temporarily highlighted to assist you. However, the issue is that they do not remain illuminated for an extended period.
If you find it challenging to memorize the weak point locations within the limited time provided, keep in mind that most of the weak points are small panels situated on the mech's body. When you successfully hit one of these panels, you will notice sparks flying, indicating that you are targeting a weak point.
Grenades prove to be effective in this section as they allow you to target multiple weak points simultaneously, without requiring precise aim.

Ground Pound |

If you manage to survive these attacks and inflict sufficient damage to the Chimera's weak points, reducing its health by 30 percent, it will temporarily be incapacitated.
At this stage, several drones will emerge, with a couple of them attempting to repair the mech. It is crucial to target and eliminate these two drones first, as the game provides objective markers for them. If left alive, they will begin to restore some of the robot's HP. Once the repair drones are dealt with, focus on taking out the remaining drones.
Phase Two
The second phase of the battle is not significantly different from the first, except that the game no longer emphasizes targeting specific weak points. Instead, you simply need to inflict damage on the mechanical beast.
However, the mentioned beast does possess a few new tricks and abilities.

This is hard to intentionally avoid since it's difficult to know what direction each explosive is going. Trying to hide behind a wall or run away is your best bet. |
In addition to these new attacks, the mech will also employ its moves from the first phase of the battle. It is crucial to continue evading these attacks as you did previously and seize opportunities to inflict damage on the robot.
If you explore the upper area and carefully search the corners, you may come across powerful weapons that can be utilized. These weapons are typically affixed to stands, requiring you to forcibly detach them. This can only be achieved if you possess enough strength. Despite the effort required, these weapons are certainly worth obtaining.
Once you have inflicted sufficient damage on the Chimera, it will be incapacitated and fall to the ground. At this point, you need to quickly leap onto its head and interact with the prompt provided to target and damage its core.
This action concludes the battle and marks its conclusion. Subsequently, you can retrieve the mech's core, which will be located near Myers' feet.
