As the main attraction of the update with their own banners, the trio is formidable playable characters with unique abilities, and like any other character in Genshin Impact, players can learn more about their past through story quests and hidden dialogues. However, some details are still shrouded in mystery, and there is more to their lore than meets the eye at first glance.
Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet Have Differing Personas in Genshin Impact
Although twins can look similar, they often exhibit features that allow observers to distinguish between them. Lyney and Lynette share violet eyes and fair skin color, but that's where their similarities end, as they behave like opposites. Lyney, a 5-star Pyro bow user, is an extroverted individual with an approachable attitude. He enjoys the attention and captivates his audience with magical tricks. Sporting a distinctive performer's outfit, including a top hat, Lyney embodies a charismatic personality for his fans, but he also has a soft side for his siblings. On the other hand, Lynette avoids the spotlight that comes with her role as a stage performer and prefers to leave all fan-related tasks to her brother.
Lynette has a feline lineage, evident from her cat-like ears and a diet dominated by fish. Just like the furry creatures, she is surprisingly clumsy and avoids machines due to her fear of damaging them. The twins share a close bond in Genshin Impact, and their traumatic experiences from the past contribute to their connection. Lynette's feline lineage caused some difficulties for the siblings while growing up, as observers often noticed her peculiar features and hinted that she was not Lyney's sibling since he appeared human. Lyney and Lynette themselves are orphans saved by "Father" from the wrath of an abusive noble, and Lyney undertakes missions for the House of Hertha to eventually assume the role of their mentor. While the trio forms a familial unit in Genshin Impact, the twins seem to be closer to each other than to Freminet, and their affiliation with the Fatui is a secret they keep to themselves.
