Foolish individuals are losing their minds over the pronouns in Starfield

We social justice warriors pose a threat. We demand that video games bow to our whims and refuse to play anything that does not align with our ideologies. If anyone resists, we stomp and shout like infants until our desires are fulfilled. We are relentless and, overall, incredibly irrational. Even childish.

Thanks be to God for our adversaries - a group of individuals shedding tears over the character creation screen of Starfield.

Indeed, some adult individuals squander their weekends being furious online simply because Starfield allows the selection of character pronouns. After all, who would desire additional customization options in a role-playing game with character creation? Certainly not these intellectual titans.

Be that as it may, without further ado, here is what we're dealing with here. There's nothing I can truly say to prepare you for this individual who completely loses it over a single option in a video game, so... enjoy?

Well, yes, that is certainly something. I believe I have never heard a word uttered with more passion than when he shouts "DAMNED PRONOUNS" into the camera around the 55-second mark. He deserves recognition for that. Or... recognition is due to Heel vs Babyface, the name of this creator, as Heel vs Babyface probably doesn't have pronouns.

Heel vs Babyface is not alone. Others have bravely stepped forward on Twitter to announce that they too may have to give up on Starfield, courageous warriors of pronouns that they are. It doesn't matter that Todd Howard openly spoke about this feature back in 2021.

Well, joking aside, I assume these individuals are aware of their own pronouns. In this context, they are upset that the choice of pronouns is separated from the body shape, which has only recently started in RPGs. However, since this actually means having even more customization options available, it is indeed a peculiar thing to protest against.

It merely demonstrates how dangerous it can be to spend all of one's time in bigoted corners of the internet, to the extent that a linguistic feature can enrage you to a bloody fury, as if you had genuinely suffered some injustice. As if you faced any kind of difficulty due to an option that allows you to be more creative with your Starfield characters.

Hopefully, these individuals - especially Heel vs Babyface - will calm down and realize that it's not as big of a fuss as it's being portrayed. It's actually quite clever. We don't see many games that allow playing as a non-binary character, and now we have two such games in a row with Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3. It's reassuring to know that more players will be able to see themselves in these games, just as many of us have been able to do for years.
