The former producer of F-Zero GX, Toshihiro Nagoshi, states that he would be open to collaborating with Nintendo again to develop a new installment of the series. F-Zero GX is considered a groundbreaking title for the Nintendo GameCube and is regarded by some as one of the best racing games for the console. Despite its critical success, GX is comparatively a niche title compared to Nintendo's more well-known franchises like Mario and Zelda. Nevertheless, F-Zero has a dedicated fan base, and GX in particular is praised as one of the best games in the small series.
Before Nagoshi became known as the creator of Sega's "Like a Dragon" franchise, he was the president of Sega's Amusement Vision team. This studio would later develop the groundbreaking Super Monkey Ball series, with the first two games being exclusive launch titles for the GameCube. One of the games developed under the AV banner was the Nintendo-produced F-Zero GX. Although the studio later became known as Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Nagoshi has a deep affection for this project and would like to return to the series one day.
In an interview with VGC, Nagoshi was asked about F-Zero GX on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. Nagoshi then emphasized that he believes if he had the opportunity, he would utilize all the knowledge he has gained over the past two decades to work on the series again.
