Fortnite: How Reputation Works

Fortnite has not been in Early Access for several years, but that doesn't mean Epic Games has stopped introducing new mechanics to its fans. With the release of Chapter 4, Season 4, Fortnite Last Resort, some characters felt that players needed to earn their trust. In order to access all of their services, players had to therefore increase their reputation - a completely new mechanic.

Some players might initially feel a bit confused when they encounter this feature. Fortunately, this guide will explain everything Fortnite fans need to know about the reputation mechanic that has been introduced into the popular Battle Royale game.

The reputation is a mechanism introduced in Fortnite in Chapter 4, Season 4. Throughout the season, players have the opportunity to increase their reputation with certain characters, unlocking additional NPC services. This means that once these NPCs trust the player, they will offer even more helpful services, providing an advantage on the battlefield.

For example, at the beginning of the season, Nolan Chance only sells a Twin Mag Assault Rifle, but as players increase their reputation with this character, he will start selling Holo-Chest Keys, offering deception services, and even be available for hire as a reconnaissance specialist.

Since the reputation mechanic increases the value of an NPC, it is also available to players who do not have a Battle Pass.

How to Increase Rep

In Chapter 4, Season 3, players were offered additional styles for their Battle Pass skins as a reward for completing a certain number of weekly challenges throughout the season. This system has been slightly modified for Chapter 4, Season 4.

Throughout Chapter 4, Season 4, certain Battle Pass characters will have their own questlines, and players will be able to complete various quests to increase their reputation with these characters and unlock additional styles. These questlines will be released gradually, meaning that NPCs will offer even more available benefits as the season progresses, providing opportunities for players to benefit from.

Players can have a maximum of ten reputation points with a character on the Battle Royale map. To find out which reputation quests are available, players need to open the Snapshot area in the quest tab of the game.

Fortnite is now available on mobile devices, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
