Genshin Impact 4.1 Leak unveils new expansion of the Fontaine map

A Genshin Impact leak unveils a new map expansion in Update 4.1, introducing the Fontaine region. There, we can anticipate a unique design and adversaries equipped with advanced technology.

The new expansion will be situated to the north of the currently explorable terrain, which comes as a surprise to fans who were anticipating an expansion in the east.

Two new playable characters have been confirmed: Neuvillette and Wriothesley. The latter is the game's first Cryo Catalyst user and has the potential to enhance the strength of team compositions involving freezing or melting.

A Genshin Impact leak has unveiled the new map expansion that will be released in the upcoming Update 4.1. The latest major update has finally introduced the long-awaited Fontaine region, integrating a variety of new characters into the official storyline of the game.

Some of these characters include the Hydro Archon Furina, also known as the Goddess of Justice of Fontaine, another Hydro user named Neuvillette, a new Geo character named Navia, and many others. Generally, Genshin Impact releases new parts of a main region throughout its storyline until it is time to unlock a new nation. Currently, five out of the seven main regions are explorable, with Natlan and Snezhnaya being the only missing nations.

A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed a new part of the map that will be featured in the upcoming Version 4.1. The new Fontaine region has quickly become a fan favorite, as it exhibits a significantly distinct design compared to the previously released nations. Fontaine's overall design combines elements from 1910s France with a futuristic theme, making this region particularly standout. While the region is known as "The Nation of Justice," it is also renowned for its dedication to advanced technology. As a result, HoYoverse has introduced new unique enemies belonging to the Automaton family. According to the leak, the expansion will be placed north of the currently explorable terrain, which has surprised some fans.

Genshin Impact 4.1 Leak Reveals New Fontaine Map Expansion

Many players had expected the region to expand towards the east, as there is a large expanse of unexplored terrain between Liyue and Fontaine. While some fans believe that this area will be filled with a vast sea, others speculate that it could be one of the most significant locations in the game, as the floating island known as Celestia is situated above this land.

Regarding new playable characters, Genshin Impact has officially confirmed two new characters: Neuvillette and Wriothesley. Both of them have been confirmed as Catalyst users and play a role in the main story of Fontaine. According to a recent leak, Neuvillette is set to appear in the first banner cycle alongside Hu Tao, who is expected to be released at the end of September.

There is great excitement surrounding Wriothesley, as he has been confirmed as the game's first Cryo Catalyst user, which means he can deal elemental damage with his normal attacks. This could make him a valuable addition to certain team compositions that rely on freezing or melting effects.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A version for the Nintendo Switch is currently in development.
