Genshin Impact fan revamps Archons' elemental attacks

A Genshin Impact fan has redesigned the animations for the elemental attacks of four popular characters: Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, and Nahida. These four characters are Archons who oversee their respective nations. Currently, there are four playable Archons in the game, and it is expected that Furina will join the roster in the coming months.

Every Genshin Impact character has two special abilities in their arsenal: their elemental attack and their elemental skill. Attacks are usually more powerful but also have a longer cooldown and consume elemental particles. Activating an elemental attack with a five-star character triggers a special close-up animation.

A Reddit user named GyroGG has shared an interesting video where they have reimagined the elemental attack animations of the four Archons in the game. Fans seem to like the updated animations as the post has received over 1.6k upvotes on the official subreddit of the game. Many fans claim that Venti's new animation, "Wind's Grand Ode," is their favorite out of the four. The biggest difference between the character's original animation and the fan-made animation is the new sound effect. The new sound effect features a much louder wind sound and a subtle explosion at the end. One of the reasons this animation stands out is the fact that Venti is likely the oldest Archon in the game, which is not surprising since he was already released in the game's initial update.

Zhongli's updated animation places much more emphasis on the explosion effect by completely changing the sound. The animation also includes a camera shake effect, which makes sense since the Geo Archon crushes his enemies with a real meteor. While some fans seem to like this change, others claim that it is a bit exaggerated and it would be better if the entire effect were toned down a bit.

Many players seem to share similar opinions about Raiden Shogun's burst, which also includes a new explosion sound effect immediately upon activation. Among the four, Raiden Shogun is considered the strongest Archon, as she fits into almost any team composition in Genshin Impact and can fulfill multiple roles, from main DPS to support.

Nahida's new burst seems to be the second best, at least according to the comments. The updated version adds a much louder sound effect to Nahida's "Illusory Heart." This is one of the most unique elemental attacks in the game, as it allows the Dendro Archon to create a massive dome that grants different buffs depending on the elements it interacts with.

Genshin Impact is now available for mobile devices, PC, PS4, and PS5. A version for the Nintendo Switch is currently in development.
