The upcoming Version 4.2 update of Genshin Impact will introduce Lumidouce Harbor, a new playable area located in the eastern parts of the Fontaine region.
It is rumored that the highly anticipated Hydro Archon Furina will be added as a playable character to the game's roster in Version 4.2, along with a new four-star character named Charlotte.
The Fontaine cycle in Genshin Impact is expected to have a busy schedule of expansions, with Chenyu Valley and a dungeon area in the Hydro region rumored for future updates.
A recent leak from Genshin Impact hints at the next update for the playable area of the latest region, Fontaine, introducing Lumidouce Harbor. The introduction of Fontaine last month brought a variety of new environments to the open-world RPG HoYoverse, from the picturesque mountain ranges of the Beryl region to the expansive Court of Fontaine. The region has already been teased to receive its first update, and Version 4.1 introduced the Fortress of Meropis and the Fontaine Research Institute. Now, Version 4.2 is expected to add yet another new area.
As Genshin Impact prepares for the release of the Version 4.1 update next week, many players are already looking ahead to the next update. Version 4.2 is heavily rumored to add the highly anticipated Hydro Archon, Furina, as a playable character to the game's roster, along with a new four-star character named Charlotte. Leaks have also teased a new weekly boss in Version 4.2, the first weekly boss in the Fontaine region. Now, a new leak suggests that a map expansion will come alongside Furina's debut.
A new update shared by the well-known HoYoverse leaker, StepLeaker, hints at the next map expansion in Fontaine planned for Version 4.2. The post reveals the introduction of Lumidouce Harbor on the game map, a port city located in the eastern parts of Fontaine. Lumidouce Harbor was already teased during a world quest in Genshin Impact, suggesting that the harbor could also be connected to the highly rumored Liyue area of Chenyu Vale. The Version 4.2 update of Genshin Impact is expected to be released in early November.
According to a report, the addition of Lumidouce Harbor would contribute to an already full schedule of expansions for the Fontaine cycle in Genshin Impact. In addition to the already released Court of Fontaine and the upcoming Fortress of Meropis, Version 4.4 is expected to add the previously mentioned Chenyu Valley to the map. Previous leaks have hinted at another expansion for the Hydro region during its cycle and a "Dungeon" area for Genshin Impact Version 4.6. There have also been rumors that a new area is planned for Mondstadt in the future, although the release date is still unknown.
The introduction of Lumidouce Harbor in Version 4.2 will follow the two packed patches filled with plenty of new content. In addition to updating gameplay options, Version 4.1 will also introduce two new characters in Genshin Impact: Neuvillette and Wriothesley as catalyst characters. The update will also take players back to Mondstadt and Liyue, where the two nations will hold a joint poetry festival. The beginning of the Fontaine cycle in Genshin Impact has brought a variety of activities to the RPG, and there is much more to come.
Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A version for the Switch is currently in development.
