Here are some tips for the invasion in Mortal Kombat 1:

Mortal Kombat 1 offers several game modes for single-player and multiplayer to provide players with a comprehensive experience. One of these modes, which will receive regular updates, is the Invasion mode. It is a feature where you travel across a map and level up your characters to enhance them for various fights and challenges.

The mode can be overwhelming and doesn't explain everything you need to understand in order to win various challenges. Therefore, it's important to take some time to understand the mechanics. By doing so, you will be able to make the most out of the mode and overcome the difficult parts.

Understanding Invasion Mode Stats

Mortal Kombat 1 Invasion Tips

Every time you level up in the Invasion mode, certain statistics are added to your character, and you can assign five more of them to the desired statistics. It's important to understand what they do and how important they are.

Stat

What It Does

How Much They Matter

Health

It increases your health, which is shown in your health bar.

This one you should play by ear. If you find enemies start dealing too much damage to you, then throw some points on your health.

Attack

Your normal attacks and combos deal more damage.

One of the most important stats you can put into your character. In this game mode, a good offense is the best defense, since you can rely on your skills to avoid damage. Even if you play a special heavy character, it doesn't hurt to put some points into this stat.

Special

You increase how much damage you deal with these moves and reduce how much you take from them. Specials, Throws, Fatal Blows, and Kameos.

This is another useful stat, especially if you're playing a zoner or grappler. Adding points to it will help you take out enemies faster. On top of that, it works as a damaging and defensive stat, making it crucial for most builds.

Defense

You take less damage from normal attacks and combos.

This one is similar to Health, where you'll want to put points into it as you see fit. Generally speaking, you could add a point to it every two levels or so and be fine.

Agility

It's harder for enemies to block your attacks while making it easier for you to perform a Perfect Block.

This is a great stat for people who like to play rushdown. If you're planning to run in and attack the enemy a ton, this stat will help with your mixup game.

Although they may not seem like much, these statistics can make a crucial difference as you progress through the mode. However, when assigning points to a character, you should know that they are set. Determine which playstyle suits you best and set your statistics accordingly.

If you're concerned about assigning your statistics incorrectly, remember that you can always use the automatic allocation function. It selects statistics based on the character and what it deems best. This can work if you just want to play through the mode or don't want to focus on statistics.

Learn The Elemental Types

Mortal Kombat 1 Invasion

You also have different elements that can be applied to characters, which appear as symbols next to them in the menu. Different options allow you to deal additional damage to them, take less damage from them, deal less damage to them, or take more damage from them.

It can be challenging to keep track of all this information, and since it is located in the character statistics menu, you can make it easier for yourself by referring to a table when needed. This way, you can find out how elements affect your character and plan accordingly.

Some characters have multiple elements, so keep that in mind when comparing statistics. Your cameo fighter or talismans can be an excellent way to add abilities that cause additional damage. Feel free to customize your character accordingly.

When In Doubt, Switch Your Character And Equipment

Mortal Kombat 1

With that in mind, it never hurts to switch your characters and equipment based on the situation. For example, if you enjoy playing as General Shao, you may have difficulty against a Dark character. For this reason, you should bring along a character like Cyrax to inflict Nature damage.

Also, don't worry about levels. You level up all characters simultaneously, so each of them has statistic points available that you can assign. This means you can build up your characters accordingly to handle different situations.

For example, you could give a character an agility build to deal with a defensive opponent, or a sturdy character against an opponent who deals tremendous damage. This way, you can switch between them as needed.

You also have other aspects you can rely on, such as talismans and relics. Talismans have limited charges and purposes, while relics provide you with passive bonuses. You can use talismans during combat to gain specific actions that deal more damage to your enemies, while relics can enhance your playstyle and statistics.

Take regular time to review your talismans and relics, especially when you obtain new ones through battles, level up your characters, or acquire them.

Visit The Store And Forge Often

Mortal Kombat

Throughout the game, you will come across various shops and forges where you can both buy items and seek upgrades.

In the shop, you will have various items available for purchase that will help you in different ways. For example, you can acquire items that provide specific defensive bonuses for a battle, or you can buy keys to open chests. Some chests even contain talismans, so grab them all if you can.

In the shop, there is only a limited number of items you can purchase, but consumables are replenished based on a timer in the corner when you make a purchase. Keep that in mind.

As for the forge, you can apply various components to your talismans to enhance them. This allows you to customize the effects, such as increasing projectile size or changing their elemental types. Before doing so, make sure to check the success chances of the upgrade in the bottom right corner.

Enemies also have their own talismans that they can use in combat, so be vigilant and react accordingly.

Prepare Yourself For More Than Fighting

Mortal

Sometimes, during your journey through the different map symbols, you will encounter various encounters that go beyond simple battles and alter the combat system. For example, you may come across "Test Your Strength," where you have to press buttons and hit another one at the right time to win.

You also have "Survival," where you have to dodge various energy balls on the screen. In this case, you simply need to use your dash and jumping abilities to avoid them; otherwise, you will have to repeat the challenge.

Regarding the battles with different adjustments, you will encounter towers where you have to fight multiple enemies in succession without changing your character. Make sure to choose the character you feel most comfortable with, otherwise, you may have to repeat it. You may even have to overcome "Test Your Strength" challenges in these sections.

You can even be surprised by ambushes during your journey across the map. These occur randomly, and you may find yourself fighting against multiple enemies in quick succession, so it's important to stay vigilant while on the go.
