Honkai Star Rail leak hints at an unannounced character

New leaks from Honkai: Star Rail point to an unannounced character named Acheron, who will be introduced in the game and bears striking similarities to a character from Honkai Impact 3rd. Alongside the already revealed character roster for the HoYoverse RPG, leaks have also teased several upcoming characters. Early revelations have already hinted at several future characters like Huohuo, Argenti, and Ruan Mei, slated to be released in upcoming updates. Now, another unannounced character is being teased for the game, accompanied by new concept artwork.

Since its initial launch in April, the cast of the sci-fi RPG Honkai: Star Rail has significantly expanded. Each new update of the game has added a trio of new characters to the playable roster, typically consisting of two new five-star characters and one four-star character. Version 1.3 recently introduced two highly anticipated five-star characters, Imbibitor Lunae and Fu Xuan, as well as the four-star character Lynx, the younger sibling of Cheetah and Serval. Now, another new character with potential connections to Honkai Impact 3rd is generating excitement among fans.

A new image shared by Honkai: Star Rail leaker hsr_stuff2 through fellow leaker Stepleaker reveals the concept artwork for the new character Acheron. Not much is known about Acheron, aside from her initial appearance featuring long dark blue hair and a black and purple color scheme in her design. Acheron notably sports a tattoo on her left leg and an Oni emblem on the sleeve of her dress. The leak does not provide any information regarding Acheron's rarity, element, or release date within Honkai: Star Rail.

Although no details about Acheron's gameplay or release timeframe have been revealed, many fans would notice her striking resemblance to a character from Honkai Impact 3rd. Several Honkai: Star Rail fans have pointed out in the comments that Acheron bears similarity to one of the main characters from Honkai Impact 3rd, Raiden Mei. Rumors have strongly hinted at the future appearance of Raiden Mei in Honkai: Star Rail, along with a Star Rail version of Yae Sakura. The Star Rail roster already includes several references to the playable cast of its predecessor, including characters like Bronya, Seele, and Welt, among others.

The early reveal of Acheron is just one of several characters in Honkai: Star Rail that have been teased well in advance. The latest four-star character, Lynx, from Star Rail had her kit revealed several months before the official announcement, with gameplay details surfacing as early as June. Other unannounced characters like Xueyi and Firefly have also received early concept artwork and models without official confirmation from HoYoverse regarding their release. Acheron's potential connections to Honkai Impact 3rd will undoubtedly excite fans who are eagerly awaiting her possible debut in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available for PC and mobile devices, and on October 11th, a version for the PS5 will also be released.
