Although deemed as a modest commodity, Seaweed possesses remarkable versatility within the realm of Stardew Valley. This aquatic treasure serves as a vital component in the creation of delectable Maki Rolls, while also being sought after by oceanic fish in Fish Pond Quests to expand their pond's capacity from 3 to 5. Furthermore, Seaweed plays a crucial role in the construction of a Fish Pond on the player's own Farm.
How to Get Seaweed in Stardew Valley
On occasion, Seaweed can be discovered within the confines of Garbage Cans. Pelican Town is home to a collective of eight garbage cans, each harboring the potential to yield this aquatic treasure. Furthermore, players can obtain Seaweed in Stardew Valley through various other means.
The Beach
The Beach is renowned as an exceptional location for capturing saltwater fish in the beloved game Stardew Valley. Utilizing a Fishing Pole, players have the delightful opportunity to reel in Seaweed from the pristine oceanic depths. Regardless of the season or time of day, Seaweed can be skillfully acquired through the art of angling. Each meticulously caught strand of Seaweed consistently possesses a standard quality, rewarding players with 3 Fishing XP.
The Tide Pools, situated at the eastern edge of the Beach, provide an idyllic setting for gathering Seaweed through foraging. Along the narrow strip adjacent to the shoreline, Seaweed naturally spawns, albeit with a mere 3% probability each night. Collecting Seaweed from the shore bestows upon players 7 Foraging XP, allowing them to further hone their skills in the art of gathering nature's bounty.
Access to the Tide Pools is restricted until the wooden bridge has been restored or players have acquired the second community upgrade through purchase.
The Night Market
Amidst the assortment of boats found at the Night Market during the winter season, there is a remarkable Submarine that presents players with an extraordinary opportunity for a deep-sea fishing excursion. Embarking on this tour requires a fee of 1,000 gold and provides players with a generous 30 minutes of in-game time dedicated to fishing. Within the confines of the Submarine, there exists a notable 41% probability for players to successfully capture Seaweed during their fishing endeavors.
Fish Pond
Once positioned within a Fish Pond, the saltwater crab pot fish species possess a modest yet noteworthy probability of 2-8% to yield 1 to 3 units of Seaweed on a daily basis. This group encompasses the likes of Crab, Cockle, Lobster, Mussels, Oysters, and Shrimp. The favorable outcome materializes once the pond's population exceeds a minimum of one. Capturing Seaweed from a Fish Pond rewards players with a substantial 18 Fishing XP.
The Dangerous Mines
By enabling the Shrine of Challenge, players gain entry to the treacherous realm known as the Dangerous Mines. Within this hazardous environment, specifically on Levels 1-29 (The Blue Earth), Seaweed can be discovered when the perilous configuration is engaged.
