In the lies of P, hidden things await to be discovered by you. These could be objects, NPCs, or even mysterious cryptic vessels. To unveil the secrets within these vessels, you must first bring them to Venigni for decryption. It is usually worthwhile to make the effort, as they often lead to valuable treasures.
Most of the time, these cryptic vessels can be found in the open game world, hidden behind secret passages or branching paths. However, there is a special vessel that is given by an NPC who has no idea what to do with it. We are referring to the ancient cryptic vessel.
Where To Find The Old Cryptic Vessel
The ancient cryptic vessel can be obtained in the wasteland swamp area, but you must progress in the game to be able to access it.
Once you reach the Bridge Stargazers in the wasteland swamp area, do not proceed further. Instead, turn around and search for a locked gate. As you approach it, you will encounter an NPC named Rookie Explorer Hugo.
Speak with Hugo, and he will ask you if you are familiar with the treasure hunter Alidoro.
After you have finished the initial conversation with him, speak to him again. This time, select the option "Talk" and then choose "About the discovered treasure."
Hugo will mention that he has a mysterious cryptic item - namely, the ancient cryptic vessel - that he cannot decipher, and he will offer it to you.
The procedure with this cryptic vessel is similar to what you may have observed with others you may have encountered.
Now follow the same procedure as with any other cryptic vessel.
Return to the Krat Hotel and give it to Venigni. Once he decrypts it for you, you will receive the decryption of the ancient cryptic vessel.
How To Solve The Old Cryptic Vessel
Firstly, open the decryption of the ancient cryptic vessel, and you will find a picture and a clue that will guide you to the location: "Arrangement: An old shack in the Grave Mire within the Malum District. Look for the gloomy tree and the clothesline, then enter the shack next to them."
Although it mentions the Malum District, you must proceed to the location before reaching the district itself.
Begin by traveling to the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazers. On the left side, there is a room with an elevator. Take the elevator all the way down. Essentially, you will need to retrace some of your steps to reach your destination.
Afterwards, proceed straight ahead and climb upwards until you see the light of a campfire. As you approach, you will encounter a stranger.
Interact with him, and he will give you the key to the Bandit's Hut.
With this key, you can open the room on the left side directly behind you.
However, once you have unlocked the door, PAUSE for a moment. This is a trap.
If you continue straight ahead towards the chest in front of you, the floor will collapse. Instead, you should jump to the right to avoid this trap.
In case you fall down, you can still find your way back to the same spot where the man was. However, it is better to make the jump successfully right from the beginning.
The only difference is that the dialogue option with the stranger will change, as he won't be too pleased that you outsmarted him.
After you have plundered this chest, you will receive a Legion Caliber and a Life Amulet +1.
