Pokémon Happy Meals are back at McDonald's, offering fans a limited opportunity to get exclusive Pokémon toys and cards.
In the past, McDonald's and Pokémon have collaborated to offer rare Pokémon gifts, but now Happy Meals provide the opportunity to collect a special random Pokémon card.
Fans should act quickly as these Happy Meals have a history of selling out fast, although McDonald's is implementing restrictions on the number of toys one can purchase.
Pokemon Happy Meals are returning to McDonald's restaurants. Fans who have enjoyed the experience in previous years and those who have never had a Pokemon Happy Meal before are likely not to want to miss this limited opportunity.
Pokemon has seen an almost endless list of collaborations in the past, including with McDonald's and other fast-food chains like Burger King. Prior to the release of the Nintendo Switch series of Pokemon video games, fans would often flock to local McDonald's branches to obtain the latest free Pokemon. The rare Pokemon giveaways required a connection to McDonald's Wi-Fi and subsequent download onto the Nintendo 2DS/3DS. Since then, it has become easier for fans to obtain the latest free Pokemon without having to visit the restaurant chain, but that hasn't stopped Pokemon and McDonald's from collaborating in other ways.
One of the popular partnerships includes Pokemon Happy Meals, which have made a comeback multiple times with refreshed toys. This time, the iconic Pikachu Happy Meal box returns, replacing the standard box with one resembling Pikachu, including its ears protruding over the lid of the box. Inside, fans can expect the usual Happy Meal food items along with a random Pokemon card. This time, the Pokemon TCG giveaway includes Pikachu, the starter Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Spritzee, Swirlix and Florges, as well as Clawitzer and Dragapult. Pokemon Happy Meals are currently being introduced in the USA and will be available until October 3rd or while supplies last.
Although there is still some time left until that date, fans may not want to wait too long to try and get one. These Pokemon Happy Meals have often sold out in the past, although McDonald's is taking some measures to prevent them from being resold. Buyers are only allowed to receive one toy with their meal and can optionally add an additional toy to their Happy Meal. While this should help slow down the demand somewhat, eager fans should visit the restaurant in the near future to avoid disappointment.
Pokemon manages to maintain excitement year after year with new releases and partnerships like this. This collaboration comes at a time when fans already have many reasons to look forward to the game series, as the Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has just been released and the release of Detective Pikachu Returns is imminent.
