Mortal Kombat 1 offers many activities for you to immerse yourself in and gain experiences with your favorite character. This allows you to unlock cool customization options for your profile and the character, making your invested time and effort more than worth it.
Whether you want to enhance your online profile to showcase your dedication to your opponent or present your main character in a specific style, you must level them up through the game's various modes to obtain some of the best rewards you can get outside of the numerous shops in Mortal Kombat 1.
How To Increase Your Character's Level In Mortal Kombat 1
Every playable character in Mortal Kombat 1 has a progression system in the form of a Mastery Rank, which allows you to earn various things for them as you advance. Each Mastery Rank is capped at Rank 35 for playable characters and Rank 15 for Kameo.
To accumulate EXP and progress in your Mastery Ranks, you need to use the character you want to level up in the Invasion Mode or during online matchmaking. While winning fights in the Kombat League earns you the most experience points, it can be somewhat inconsistent as you'll be competing against other players.
An impeccable victory in both modes will also grant you a tremendous amount of experience points, but that's easier said than done. Nevertheless, there are only two ways to reach the maximum Mastery Level for a character: through these two paths. We recommend fully utilizing both to achieve Mastery Rank 35.
How To Level Up Fast In Mortal Kombat 1
Although it requires a lot of time and effort to reach Mastery Rank 35 with a character in Mortal Kombat 1, there are some ways to expedite the process if you don't mind grinding in the Invasion Mode.
Relics are a crucial aspect of the Invasion Mode and grant you valuable bonuses in and outside of combat. For example, the relic "No Junk" will provide you with a 15% increase in experience points earned from victorious encounters or completing mini-games like "Test Your Might."
Furthermore, achieving a flawless victory in an encounter will further increase your experience points and make it one of the best ways to accumulate Mastery Rank experience points in Mortal Kombat 1. However, participating in online matchmaking still seems to be the best way to quickly and efficiently earn large amounts of Mastery Rank experience points.
Executing finishers (Fatalities and Brutalities) also rewards you with additional experience points at the end of an encounter. Therefore, always make sure to attempt to perform one to conclude a fight and prevent a decent amount of experience points from going unused!
Master Rank Rewards In Mortal Kombat 1
As mentioned above, Mortal Kombat 1 features Mastery Ranks for both main game characters and cameos. Each Mastery Rank comes with a reward, ranging from a new Fatality, a Kombat Card, to a new color palette for the character with whom you achieved the rank.
Although each character has their own unique rewards for Mastery Rank, the pattern of received rewards is the same for all characters. For example, if Smoke receives a new Brutality at Mastery Rank 3, you can expect that all other characters will also receive a new Brutality at Mastery Rank 3.
As a result, the following tables will show what you can expect from each Mastery Rank for the entire roster in Mortal Kombat 1, including both main game characters and cameos!
You can also obtain some of the Mastery Rank rewards from the Shrine before or after reaching the corresponding Mastery Rank. If this occurs, you will be rewarded with Koins and/or Kronika's Time Crystals to compensate for receiving a duplicate item!
