Nintendo unveils 3 Switch bundles for the holiday shopping season

Fans wishing for a new Nintendo Switch bundle ahead of the holiday season are in luck as the company has announced the return of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle and two Switch Lite bundles with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. All three Switch bundles will be available starting in October, over a month before Black Friday.

The news about these Mario Kart and Animal Crossing bundles arrives as rumors and leaks about the successor to the Switch continue to increase. According to the latest rumors, the successor to the Switch could have backward compatibility with Switch games and may potentially be as powerful in terms of graphic potential as Sony's PS5. However, all rumors should be taken with caution until confirmed otherwise by Nintendo. While the successor to the Switch is not coming to the market in the near future, it doesn't stop Nintendo from offering more from its current hardware lineup.

From Friday, October 6, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle will return to US stores. Originally released in 2020, this bundle includes a base Switch console, a digital voucher for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month membership to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Given that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling Nintendo Switch game, the new bundle will contribute to these sales figures. Despite the news of a new Switch bundle, some users on social media were disappointed that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle does not include themed designs on the console or Joy-Con controllers. Some users also pointed out that DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is not part of the bundle, as the DLC is available through the Nintendo eShop or the Expansion Pack upgrade for the Switch Online service.

From October 6, two new Nintendo Switch Lite bundles will also be available, featuring artwork from Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the console covers and including digital copies of the game. The Switch Lite bundle titled "Isabelle's Aloha Edition" will be exclusively available at Target in the USA and will feature a pink console with leaf patterns on the back of the device, as well as an Animal Crossing logo on the right side next to the home button. A turquoise counterpart named "Timmy and Tommy's Aloha Edition" will be exclusively available at Walmart in the USA.

As the Nintendo Switch continues to achieve milestones even seven years after its release, it's understandable why Nintendo intends to offer the console for as long as possible. With the upcoming successor to the Switch, it remains to be seen what Nintendo will do.
