One of the surprise hits of 2022 is coming to the Nintendo Switch

"Trombone Champ," an indie rhythm game, has gained popularity on Steam and is now being released for the Nintendo Switch. It promises casual entertainment and a wacky gameplay mechanic.

With overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, the game allows players to use a trombone and have fun, regardless of any mistakes.

The Switch version of "Trombone Champ" offers a local multiplayer feature for up to four players, as well as various gameplay options, including the ability to use gyro controls.

"Trombone Champ" has been announced for the Nintendo Switch and will be released today. This indie title ranks among the finest rhythm games for those who enjoy casual entertainment and eccentric gameplay. Now, Nintendo fans finally have access to it.

In 2022, "Trombone Champ" experienced an explosive surge in popularity on Steam. Developed by indie developers Holy Wow Studios, this musical game quickly gained momentum after Twitch streamers started playing it, becoming an unexpected hit. So far, the game's popularity seems to remain intact, as it stands with overwhelmingly positive reviews of 98% on Steam, based on ratings from over 6,000 players.

Surprisingly, "Trombone Champ" was announced during the Nintendo Direct event for the Switch and will be available for purchase today. In essence, "Trombone Champ" is a rhythm music game where players utilize a trombone. However, it sets itself apart in this genre by allowing players more room for error and ensuring that it remains enjoyable regardless of the player's skill level. "Trombone Champ" will offer the same selection of songs as the currently released version, providing players with 45 different melodies that they can completely mess up while playing. The songs encompass a range of genres, from classical music to rhythmic electronic beats, catering to various musical preferences.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the port is that the Nintendo Switch version of "Trombone Champ" will feature some differences that make it unique compared to previous releases. For instance, now up to four players can play together in local multiplayer mode. Additionally, Switch players will have access to several gameplay options. For example, it will be possible to utilize gyro controls to adjust the pitch up and down or play the game using the infrared motion camera of the controller.

However, "Trombone Champ" wasn't the only delightful surprise for Switch owners in this edition of Nintendo Direct. The announcement of the remake of "Mario vs. Donkey Kong" also thrilled fans. Originally released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, "Mario vs. Donkey Kong" was an underrated gem of its time, focusing on puzzle-platform gameplay and spawning several sequels over the years. The new version of "Mario vs. Donkey Kong" will feature updated graphics and also support a local co-op mode, allowing players to team up and play as Mario and Toad together.

"Trombone Champ" is available for mobile devices, PCs, and the Switch.
