Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 features a wide array of unique weapons, each with distinct characteristics such as time to kill, recoil, mobility, and more. Even within the same weapon family, different variants can feel significantly diverse simply by altering the ammo type. The M13C is an example of such a weapon, serving as the high-impact variant of the M13B.
In comparison to the M13B, the M13C utilizes .300 Blackout rounds that have a slower velocity than 5.56 NATO but are subsonic, preventing enemies from detecting the sound of your kills with death skulls. Additionally, the M13C delivers significantly more damage than the M13B, although it comes with the trade-off of higher recoil. If you aim to unlock this weapon and its mastery camos, it is important to have effective builds that complement its strengths.
How To Unlock The M13C
Interestingly, the M13C does not have an associated unlock challenge. Players who missed the Shadow Siege event will need to play DMZ (presumably a game mode or map) to obtain this weapon. By successfully extracting from the DMZ with the M13C, it becomes available for use in multiplayer and Warzone. If someone already owns this weapon, they can easily drop it for you at the beginning of a DMZ match.
Apart from the DMZ method, another way to unlock the M13C is by purchasing a store bundle that includes a blueprint for the weapon. Additionally, pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 will grant access to a blueprint for the M13C, which can be utilized in both multiplayer and Warzone.
Versatile M13C Build
M13C Build | ||
---|---|---|
Laser | VLK LZR 7mw | Tune for sprint to fire and ADS speeds |
Muzzle | Komodo Heavy | Tune for ADS speed and recoil control |
Underbarrel | Commando Foregrip | Tune for ADS speed and aim walking speed |
Rear Grip | D37 Grip | Tune for ADS and sprint to fire speeds |
Stock | TRX-56 Stock | Tune for ADS speed and aim walking speed |
The M13C faces challenges with maintaining consistent accuracy at longer distances, but this build aims to address that issue without compromising its excellent mobility. The VLK LZR 7mw attachment significantly improves the weapon's aiming stability and ADS (aim down sight) statistics. To counteract the strong leftward recoil pattern after the initial three shots, the Komodo Heavy muzzle is employed to minimize most of the horizontal recoil. In addition, the build includes the Commando Foregrip, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stock attachments to further reduce recoil for the weapon.
Although equipping multiple recoil attachments may appear excessive, the M13C ultimately benefits from improved accuracy in landing upper torso and headshots at medium range. However, it is not well-suited for longer distances due to its low bullet velocity of 300 m/s, which is a limitation resulting from firing subsonic ammunition. It is advisable to utilize this weapon primarily in mid-range gunfights to achieve optimal outcomes.
Loadout Recommendations
Loadout | |
---|---|
Secondary | Preference |
Lethal | Throwing Knife |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Preference |
Base Perks | Overkill, Double Time |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | Quick Fix |
For optimal performance with the M13C, it is recommended to adopt an aggressive loadout that capitalizes on the weapon's high strafe speed. Equipping perks and equipment that enhance this aspect is advised. Quick Fix is particularly valuable as it allows for swift recovery after engaging in a gunfight, increasing the likelihood of success in 1v2 and 1v3 scenarios. Fast Hands further enhances the weapon's reload speed and facilitates quicker weapon swapping, which is especially useful when utilizing Overkill with secondary weapons. Additionally, bringing along a reliable long-range weapon will ensure a versatile loadout capable of handling various situations.
Longshot M13C Build
M13C Build | ||
---|---|---|
Optic | XTEN Angel-40 | Tune for ADS speeds |
Muzzle | Komodo Heavy | Tune for recoil stabilization and control |
Underbarrel | FTAC Ripper 56 | Tune for recoil stabilization and aim idle stability |
Rear Grip | D37 Grip | Tune for recoil steadiness and aim idle stability |
Stock | TRX-56 Stock | Tune for ADS speed |
Due to the M13C's subpar bullet velocity, it is not a recommended choice for Warzone. However, when aiming to achieve longshot kills, which are often required for unlocking the Platinum mastery camo for most weapons, a long-range variant of this gun can be utilized. To assist in this endeavor, it is suggested to equip the XTEN Angel-40 optic, which provides real-time information about the distance between you and the enemy. If the enemy is positioned at a distance of 38 meters or more, eliminating them will count as a longshot kill towards your objective.
The remaining attachments and tuning configurations are specifically designed to enhance the weapon's accuracy at long range. The Komodo Heavy muzzle is utilized to significantly reduce the weapon's horizontal recoil. Furthermore, the FTAC Ripper 56, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stock attachments are employed to greatly minimize overall recoil and improve aiming stability. With these recoil control adjustments, the weapon should exhibit sufficient accuracy to land upper torso shots at distances of 40 meters or more, enabling you to swiftly eliminate enemies and progress towards your Platinum longshot challenge. If sacrificing an optic is acceptable, you have the option to replace the XTEN Angel-40 sight with a longer barrel to enhance the weapon's bullet velocity.
Loadout Recommendations
Loadout | |
---|---|
Secondary | Preference |
Lethal | Semtex |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Tactical Insertion |
Base Perks | Tracker, Double Time |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands or Cold-Blooded |
Ultimate Perk | Ghost |
A loadout optimized for long-range engagements would benefit from utilizing Tactical Insertions to respawn at a safe distance from enemies, particularly in game modes such as Ground War and Invasion. Additionally, equipping Ghost alongside Cold-Blooded is recommended to evade encounters with enemy killstreaks, most notably UAVs. Locate a strategic position that provides a vantage point overlooking a frequently traversed area, then efficiently eliminate targets using your weapon from distances of 38 meters or more to attain longshot kills. Repeat this process as necessary until you have successfully unlocked the prestigious Platinum camo. In the context of 6v6 or 12v12 matches, you may consider replacing Cold-Blooded with Fast Hands for enhanced agility and weapon handling.
