Piplup, a popular Pokémon, is depicted in a charming fan art showcasing its morning routine of splashing water on its face.
Fans find the fan art simply adorable despite some silly elements, such as Piplup's face on a towel and using a faucet to wash its face.
Piplup's popularity is evident in fan creations and official merchandise, even though it was absent in some recently released games and will only return with a DLC.
A Pokémon fan has shared an enchanting artwork depicting how Piplup starts its day. The fairytale-like illustration has captivated many other fans and is impressive enough that it has been mistaken for Pokémon TCG art by multiple individuals.
Given the fact that the series has introduced hundreds of individual pocket monsters, it is not surprising that players have their favorites. It is common for the starter Pokémon of each generation to fall into this category, especially if they were the player's first companion in exploring the game world. Piplup started its journey back in the fourth generation with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, but the small penguin pocket monster remains highly popular.
The adorable fan art of Piplup is created by Mions-art, who shared their creation with fans on Reddit. The pastel artwork showcases Piplup in front of a sink and a mirror, with its face reflected in the mirror. Piplup splashes water from the sink onto its face, likely waking up and refreshing itself with a little face wash for the day. Next to the sink, there is also an image of Piplup on a towel, and a Piplup-like rubber duck is seen in a basket on top of a washing machine. The artwork could easily fit into a Pokémon picture book.
Mions-art has received much praise for their efforts, and many fans describe the fan art as adorable. Some also pointed out some silly aspects of the artwork, such as it being strange to have one's own face on a towel. However, with such a cute Pokémon like Piplup, it seems to be normal. Others noticed how funny it was that Piplup was using a faucet to wash its face, even though it is a Water-type Pokémon and can generate water itself. However, most fans seem to think that these quirky elements simply enhance the charm of the artwork.
It is evident that Piplup is a popular Pokémon with many fans, considering fan art like this and official productions as evidence. Pokémon fans have created Piplup terrariums and various forms of Piplup fan art, while the official company has produced huge Piplup plush toys and even workout videos based on the Pokémon. However, in recent game releases, fans had to do without Piplup as it was not included in the initial roster of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Fortunately for the fans, Piplup will be making a return in the "Indigo Disk" DLC.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are now available for the Nintendo Switch.
