Pokemon GO is organizing a special event in India to celebrate the launch of Hindi language support, but most players outside of India are unable to participate or earn rewards.
The event is aimed at new players in India and offers encounters with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, shiny Pokémon, additional candies, and Mega Energy for specific Pokémon.
Although players outside of India may miss out on this event, they can look forward to the Community Day event in September 2023, where similar bonuses such as increased candy yield and experience point gains will be offered.
Pokemon GO is hosting a special event this weekend to celebrate the introduction of Hindi language support, but the majority of active players will not be able to participate and receive free rewards. Every month, Pokemon GO releases new updates with timed events where players can earn more rewards and try out the latest features of the game, such as routes.
More than seven years after its initial release, Pokemon GO remains one of the most popular mobile games worldwide. Community Day and Pokemon GO Fest events bring fans together to catch select Pokemon and participate in challenging raids. The Pokemon Company and Niantic will also host the Pokemon GO City Safari event starting in October in selected cities, featuring exclusive special research tasks and new activities. While we await the Pokemon GO City Safari event, Niantic has launched a new event this weekend specifically for Pokemon GO newcomers in India.
The Pokemon Company and Niantic are hosting the special event "Aao Khele Pokemon GO" this weekend to celebrate the game's launch in India and the introduction of Hindi language support. However, most active members of the Pokemon GO community will not be able to participate in the new event as it is exclusive to India. Pokemon GO players in India will have access to field research that allows encounters with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Event participants may also come across shiny Pokemon and receive additional candies. Furthermore, upon completing certain tasks, they will also receive Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.
The new Pokemon GO special event will be live in India until October 14th at 8:00 PM local time. Niantic promises further improvements and updates for the Hindi version of Pokemon GO. Outside of India, Pokemon GO players will have to wait until the September 2023 Community Day event, which starts on September 23rd, to receive additional candies and XP rewards.
Although many players may not be able to participate in the new Pokemon GO event, the upcoming Community Day event in September will soon offer similar bonuses that the global community can benefit from. These bonuses include increased candy drops, higher XP gains, reduced trading costs, and increased encounter rates. Furthermore, it appears that the India event is aimed at players starting their Pokemon GO journey. Therefore, players who already play the game frequently may not benefit from it as much as new players.
The DLC "The Teal Mask" for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet adds new Pokemon that could potentially join Pokemon GO in the near future. Niantic will likely release new blog posts for Pokemon GO players in India and around the world once the development team is ready to share information about new Pokemon and events.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS.
