The DLC "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet," known as "The Teal Mask," introduces the mini-game "Ogre Oustin'," which presents enjoyable challenges and valuable rewards.

By successfully completing Ogre Oustin', players can earn EV-altering Mochis and a special shiny creature.

In order to unlock the coveted shiny Munchlax, players must defeat Ogre Oustin' in the "hard" difficulty mode after completing the "easy" and "normal" modes.

Within the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's The Teal Mask DLC, there is a plethora of content to explore, ranging from the main storyline to side quests and capturing all the new and returning creatures that were previously unavailable in the games. While these activities may constitute the focus of many players' experiences in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC, the Ogre Oustin' mini-game provides an enjoyable bonus challenge and a variety of useful rewards for successful completion. However, there is one reward that players can earn through Ogre Oustin' that may prove to be quite elusive but is highly desirable and not to be missed.

Due to the limited pre-release promotion of The Teal Mask DLC, Ogre Oustin' can be a surprisingly enjoyable and useful side activity. Players can access Ogre Oustin' from the Kitakami Hall and are required to participate in a mandatory round of the mini-game during the main quest of the DLC. While the primary allure of this activity lies in the EV-altering Mochis that can be earned through successful completion of the mini-game, players who invest enough time in Ogre Oustin' also have the opportunity to obtain a special shiny creature as a reward.

Player’s Should Spend Time Beating Ogre Oustin’ for a Shiny Munchlax

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC Players Shouldn’t Miss Out on One Unique Ogre Oustin’ Reward

The objective of Ogre Oustin' is to collect the correct quantity of each color of berries from their respective Ogre counterparts by popping each Ogre balloon and then placing them in the corresponding basket within the time limit. Players earn points for each berry they gather, every balloon they pop, and the remaining overall time at the end of a round. To add an extra challenge to the game, greedy Mons such as Skwovet, Greedent, Munchlax, and Snorlax will attempt to steal the berries that players have placed in their baskets. This means that players must maintain a balance between berry collection and deterring potential thieves in order to succeed.

Depending on their final score, players can receive various rewards from Ogre Oustin', including the new Mochi items, as well as other helpful items such as rare berries, Tera shards, Mints, and evolution items. The most coveted reward is a shiny Munchlax, which can be earned by defeating Ogre Oustin' in the "hard" difficulty mode. However, in order to access the hard mode, players must first conquer Ogre Oustin' in the "easy" and "normal" difficulty levels, requiring successful completion of three and six rounds, respectively.

When playing Ogre Oustin' in the "hard" difficulty mode, the challenge is heightened as players must successfully complete 10 rounds of the game. The reward for doing so is significantly better than in the other difficulty levels. Munchlax is one of the returning Mons added to the base Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with The Teal Mask, previously unavailable. Therefore, for fans of this Gen 4 creature, receiving a shiny variant as a reward brings an additional delight. Furthermore, the evolution of Munchlax into Snorlax allows players to obtain a shiny version of one of the most iconic Mons from the first generation. It is definitely worth working through the ranks of Ogre Oustin' to earn it.

In addition to its shiny appearance, the Munchlax obtained by defeating Ogre Oustin' in the "hard" difficulty mode also possesses the cunning trait, granting the creature the title of "Opportunist." This particular Munchlax also has its hidden ability called "Gluttony," which is typically only obtained by capturing a Munchlax in a Tera Raid or by using an Ability Patch. It's important to note that while players can participate in a cooperative game of Ogre Oustin' to play with a friend, this shiny Munchlax can only be earned if the player has successfully completed the "easy" and "normal" difficulty modes in their own game. Simply joining a friend's game who has unlocked the "hard" difficulty mode for Ogre Oustin' will not suffice to acquire this special Munchlax.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for Nintendo Switch. The Teal Mask DLC is also now available.
