Stardew Valley: How to marry Abigail

Stardew Valley is far more than just a farming simulation game. It offers players a world full of exciting possibilities, including the opportunity to build enduring relationships with one of the 12 marriageable NPCs in Pelican Town. For those seeking an adventurous and free-spirited partner, look no further than Abigail. With her striking violet hair and deep love for video games and battling monsters, Abigail is the ideal companion for those seeking excitement in their virtual matrimony.

In Stardew Valley, Abigail is the daughter of Pierre and Caroline, residing with her parents in an apartment behind the general store. She shares a close friendship with Sam and Sebastian and also serves as the drummer in their band.

Abigail’s Schedule

Stardew Valley How to Marry Abigail

Each of the NPCs in Stardew Valley follows a unique daily schedule, rarely deviating from it. However, Abigail is quite active, making it a bit challenging for players to locate her. Her routine varies depending on the season.

Spring

In Spring, she is usually available in Pierre’s Store from 10:30 AM to 1 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On Spring 4, Abigail has her annual checkup and can be found at Harvey’s Clinic from 1:30 PM to 4 PM.

Fall

The routine is the same for Fall, except that on Mondays Abigail heads to the Beach at 11 AM.

Summer

In Summer, she is found standing by The Mountain Lake from 3 to 5:30 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Winter

In Winter, Abigail can be found in the Carpenter’s Shop on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Every Wednesday, regardless of the season, Abigail visits the cemetery at 7 PM and pauses at Mona's grave.

Abigail’s Favorite Gifts

Stardew Valley How to Marry

Giving gifts is one of the best ways for players to increase their friendship points with the villagers. To win Abigail's favor, players must engage in daily conversations with her and present her with gifts twice a week. A gift given on her birthday (Fall 13) has an amplified effect, eight times stronger, on the friendship bond.

Things Abigail loves being gifted are:

  • All Universal Loves
  • Amethyst
  • Banana Pudding
  • Blackberry Cobbler
  • Chocolate Cake
  • Pufferfish
  • Pumpkin
  • Spicy Eel

Things Abigail likes being gifted are:

  • All Universal Likes except Vegetables
  • Quartz

Most of her preferred gifts are cooked dishes, which may be challenging for players to obtain early on. Cooking requires a kitchen, which becomes available only after players upgrade their farmhouse for the first time. On the other hand, two of her favorite gifts are crystals - amethyst and quartz. Both minerals can be easily found in the mines.

Abigail’s Heart Events

Stardew Valley How to

Like all NPCs in Stardew Valley, Abigail also has her own heart events. Triggering Abigail's heart events can be slightly more challenging due to her active nature.

Two Hearts

Enter Pierre’s General Store on any day except Saturday, and go to Abigail’s room. She requests help to play a video game. Players do not gain or lose any Friendship points during this heart event.

Four Hearts

Visit the mountain on a rainy day between 12 PM and 7 PM, in any season except Winter. If players tell Abigail that they’re enjoying the weather, their Friendship is boosted by 50 points.

Six Hearts

Enter Pelican Town between 9 PM and 12 AM, on a day when it isn’t raining. Saying “Yes” when Abigail asks if the player has ever used a sword boosts Friendship by 10 points.

Eight Hearts

Abigail sends a letter inviting the player to visit her in her room. Enter Pierre’s General Store between 8 PM and 10 PM. Abigail excitedly shows the player her spirit board, indicating that she is starting to develop feelings for them. A romantic relationship with Abigail can begin once players have developed an eight-heart friendship with her. Presenting a flower Bouquet to Abigail boosts friendship by 25 points, indicates romantic interest, and changes her status to “Girlfriend” in the Social tab. The Bouquet can be purchased from Pierre’s General Store for 200g.

Ten Hearts

Enter the Mines or the Quarry Mine between 5 PM and 12 AM. Comforting Abigail when she’s scared of the bats increases friendship by 20–40 points. Then, she finally confesses her feelings for the player. After the Ten-Heart event, Abigail appears in the Mines on rainy days. She can be found on Level 20 either playing the flute or walking in place. If Abigail is not playing the flute, she will speak to the player.

Marrying Abigail

Upon reaching ten hearts with Abigail, players have the opportunity to marry her. Mayor Lewis informs players through a letter that villagers in Stardew Valley can propose to their partners using a special necklace pendant called "The Mermaid's Pendant." Players can purchase this pendant from the old mariner on the beach for 5,000 gold coins. As he only appears on rainy days, players may need to use the Rain Totem during the winter season.

The old mariner only sells the pendant to players who are eligible for marriage. Players are eligible if they have upgraded their farmhouse at least once and have reached ten hearts with their partner. Once the pendant is accepted, players will be engaged to Abigail, and their wedding will be scheduled on the calendar three days after the proposal.

Stardew Valley is now available for Android, iOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
