Starfield achieves another milestone before release

Starfield has reached over 1 million mod downloads. Despite still being in Early Access, Starfield already has a dedicated player community creating content and sharing their experiences in the game.

In Starfield, the player takes on the role of a member of the Constellation, a group of explorers searching for mysterious artifacts scattered throughout the galaxy. Starfield players have an extensive character creator, options to customize spaceships, and mod support to make their gameplay experience more unique. One modder has even taken on the task of adding a DLSS mod to Starfield.

Starfield has reached the milestone of over one million mod downloads on Nexus Mods. The website, known for providing a large number of mods for the industry's biggest games, currently has 439 Starfield mods. On average, each Starfield mod has about 2,500 downloads. The DLSS mod has already surpassed 200,000 downloads. Another popular mod is "Cleanfield," which removes the intro videos and provides a cleaner Starfield menu, with nearly 30,000 downloads. On Nexus Mods, players can also find various character presets, such as the one that adds George Costanza from Seinfeld to Starfield.

Although the journey of modding in Starfield has just begun, Bethesda already has a successful track record in this regard with previous releases. Fallout 4 was released in 2015 but still maintains an active community that continues to produce content. Fallout 4 has over 48,000 mods published on Nexus Mods with 1.2 billion downloads. Another example of modding success is Skyrim. Despite being released over a decade ago, it still has an active modding community. The number of mods available for Skyrim on Nexus Mods is 69,741. Collectively, Skyrim mods have nearly 2 billion downloads on the website.

Starfield has received a lot of praise and has so far met players' high expectations. The game offers a vast universe to explore, with over 1,000 visitable planets. Additionally, Starfield hides some entertaining Easter eggs and references, giving players something to discover while exploring the cosmos. As long as the game's mod support continues to progress at this pace, fans expect Starfield to have a similar longevity to Bethesda's past games.

Starfield is now available during Early Access and will be officially released for PC and Xbox Series X/S on September 6th.
