Starfield Best Ways to Cultivate Sealant

Some of the resources you'll find in Starfield are mostly available if you intend to engage extensively with the game's optional base-building mechanics. For example, you won't need 500 pieces of iron if your goal is to attach some cool modifications to an existing spacesuit. Well, at least we assume you won't.

And then there are the ever-present resources, those that seem to appear as part of a crafting recipe with every blink of an eye. Sealant is undoubtedly one of them, and we bet you'll run out of supply faster than you can replenish it. Fortunately, there are ways to work around that.

Strange New Worlds

First, we'll show you how to obtain sealant as a secondary objective while exploring planets. The amount you'll get varies greatly since some worlds lack any flora or fauna that could serve as a substitute for sealant, while others are teeming with a species that guarantees drops of sealant.

Since the sealing agent occurs frequently in its organic form in certain types of animals, we recommend visiting planets and moons that seem to host abundant life. The chances are good that you will find at least a few things here, whether they be dinosaur-like aliens or flowers with poisonous branches, that will have some form of sealing agent.

During your journey or if you come across a planet that has an abundance of this stuff, consider leaving it, advancing a few days, and then returning to harvest more.

Typical Old Shops

Although sealant is a rare - but free! - commodity throughout the cosmos, it is almost guaranteed to be available at certain merchants in settlements. Warehouse-like places such as Jemison Mercantile and UC Distribution on New Atlantis, as well as their counterparts in Akila City and Neon? Good places to check. Trading company stores? Also good places to check.

You can also find sealant near workbenches and similar locations in the many bases, civilian structures, and abandoned laboratories you will come across. However, while you may certainly pay less for it, you have a better chance of obtaining sealant in large quantities if you buy up the inventory of a store. Similar to locating sealant in the wild, you can also advance time until the merchants restock their goods if you have a serious need for sealant.
