It is quite common to spend hours perfecting the physical features of one's character in the customization screen when starting an RPG like Starfield. Once a unique character has been created, one can begin playing, but sometimes there is a desire to alter the appearance during the game.
In most scenarios, it is evidently impractical to start an entirely new game session just to change the appearance of one's character. Fortunately, the game allows for working on the physical features of the character at any time, provided one can locate the right place and has a few credits in their pocket.
How To Customize Your Character Mid-Game
There are various ways to customize your character, depending on what you want to change. For example, if you want to alter your character's body type or facial features, you'll need to find a store called "Enhance." These stores can be found in almost every major city, and you can easily identify them by their unique banner.
For beginner players, the Enhance shops can be found in the business district of Jemison and next to the Volii Hotel in Neon. Enter the store and speak to the NPC near the main counter, and they will offer you a cosmetic treatment for 500 credits. Choose the option, and you will be directly taken to the customization screen.
Please note that once you select the option, 500 credits will be deducted from your account.
You will not get your money back, even if you decide to cancel the customization.
Once you have made all the desired changes in the customization screen, you can click on the "Finish" option located in the bottom right corner of your screen. On the next screen, the game will prompt you to add your name if you wish to change it, but if you don't want to, you can simply press the button displayed next to "Cancel."
After you press this button, you will see some additional options with which you can save your changes. However, if you want to change your character's outfit, you will find the current outfits you own in the clothing section of your inventory or storage space.
If you don't have any outfits that you like, you can always visit various merchants on different planets and browse their inventory for new outfits. Sometimes, you can also obtain new outfits through main quests or faction missions.
