Starfield: How to Obtain Infinite Inventory Weight

Many Starfield players have encountered the same issue - hoarding. You have likely noticed that the base "capacity" is far from sufficient to carry your equipment, resources, and consumables. Presumably, you will fill the cargo hold of your ship and turn your companions into glorious pack mules, yet still gain weight as you gather materials for your outposts.

There are ways to increase inventory weight and even reduce the mass of resources, thanks to perks and suit bonuses. However, this is not a foolproof solution as the weight increases occur gradually and are far from sufficient to compensate for the amount of items that can be picked up. Nevertheless, there is a solution if you don't mind a little deceit.

How To Use The Console To Increase Carry Weight

If you wish to increase your carrying capacity, simply enter "player.setav carryweight [X]," where [X] represents your desired maximum carrying weight. For instance, entering "player.setav carryweight 500" will set your carrying capacity to 500.

To open the console, press the ` or ' key.

You can specify an extremely high number like "999999999," or you can enter a lower number that can still be filled if you don't want to completely remove the limit.

How To Get Achievements After Using The Console

The downside is that using the console to increase your carrying capacity disables achievements by marking your save file as "modified."

Even reverting to previous save files before using the console command disables achievements. In this case, you would need to open the Starfield folder located in "My Games" within the Documents directory and delete the "StarfieldConsoleHistory" file.

If you want to keep your inventory weight and unlock achievements simultaneously, you'll need to download a third-party mod. Currently, the easiest-to-use mod is the Baka Achievement Enabler, which requires the Starfield Script Extender.

Copy the contents of the SFE and BAE folders into your Starfield directory (which contains the Starfield.exe) and launch the game using the sfe_loader.exe. Now, console commands will not disable your ability to earn achievements.

How To Get Infinite Carry Weight On Xbox

The Xbox does not have a console, so you cannot enter cheats. It also does not support native mods like Skyrim and Fallout 4, therefore there is no way to increase your inventory weight through the Xbox itself.

If you want to increase your mass limit, you will need a PC where Starfield can be temporarily run. Simply repeat the steps mentioned above, close the game, and then open it again on the Xbox. Your save file will be transferred.

You can also use this method to cheat in your Xbox save file by obtaining Digipicks, money, and other items.

However, the Xbox limits your inventory weight to 1,000. While it may not be the infinite 9,999,999 of the PC, it is still a significantly higher number that will make things easier.

The downside is that there is no way to prevent your save file from being marked as "modified," even if you entered the console command on PC with achievements modification enabled. The Xbox detects cheats when you perform automatic saves, quick saves, or manual saves.
