The most satisfying experience in Baldur's Gate 3 is repeatedly losing a battle.
One of these interactions comes in the form of emergency cut walls. Initially, you might overlook them as purely cosmetic walls since it's not obvious that you can bypass them. However, these walls can assist you in various ways once you know how to remove them.
How To Remove An Emergency Cuttable Wall
You can find these emergency cut walls at random points during the main quest or while exploring a building. If you want to get past these walls, you need to find an item called the Cutter. This is given to you by Lin at the beginning of the game, and you can also purchase it from various merchants in the weapons area.
The game also places some Cutters near a cuttable wall, just in case you don't have one at that moment.
However, it is not guaranteed to appear, so it is recommended to carry one with you at all times.
You will see four orange markers at the edges of the wall, and "Cut Pins" will be written next to them with an arrow pointing towards them. You simply need to aim the cutter's laser at each of these pins for a second, and the wall will fall on the other side. However, note that this will create noise and may alert nearby enemies.
If you come across an emergency cut wall during a stealth mission, you need to make sure that the enemies don't spot you for a while until the caution status disappears from the stealth meter.
What Can You Find Past The Cuttable Wall?
The emergency cut walls can have different types of areas behind them, including the following:
- If you find this wall at the end of a stealth mission as soon as you reach the required item, you can find an exit behind them. This exit will take you out of the place much faster and you'll also find fewer enemies on the path.
- You can also find some secret rooms past these walls that can contain chests and other locked areas with high-tier loot.
