Starfield Legacy's End Quest Walkthrough Guide

It's the grand finale of the Crimson Fleet quests in Starfield, which also means it's the finale for your collaboration with UC SysDef. You have just completed "Eye of the Storm" and have Kryx's Legacy with you, but before you can decide where to go, you must choose which of these two comprehensive organizations ultimately emerges victorious.

Whom should you choose? Well, here are two approaches: there's the moral dilemma and the practical dilemma. Which choice feels right to you? And which choice brings you the best rewards? We'll go through everything.

Should You Side With UC SysDef Or Crimson Fleet?

Starfield Legacy

Before you read this guide, make sure you have completed your perilous venture in our previous guide for 'Eye of the Storm.' Consider this as a direct continuation and conclusion of your perilous escape.

Starfield doesn't hide it; before you can free your ship from the legacy, you must decide whether to make a gravitational jump to UC SysDef or the Crimson Fleet. So let's talk about the consequences.

First, the obvious: you should consider your own feelings when making your decision. We find the crew of the Crimson Fleet more intriguing, although we hesitate to agree that the lack of galactic oversight is necessarily a good thing for the average citizen.

The Rights And Wrongs Of Galactic Power-Balancing

On the other hand, UC SysDef doesn't seem to us like the dark side of what the United Colonies military can be - you just need to look at the UC Vanguard questline that got you into this whole mess for that.

But aside from that, we're sure that players want to know the more concrete impacts, and we would be lying if we said we're not partially influenced by that.

Most companions will approve

Fewer companions will approve

To put it quite plainly, when we say "more companions will agree," we actually haven't found anyone who is satisfied with the decision to side with the Crimson Fleet. But some players have reported that their companions agree with them, so we're keeping it somewhat open-ended. However, in general, you should expect practically everyone to consider UC SysDef as the right answer and not favor the alternative.

So, you will receive the same (enormous) amount of credits regardless of your decision. You will gain more companion favor for UC SysDef, but adjusting favor is quite straightforward. Losing access to the key is the major pragmatic drawback when turning against the Crimson Fleet, and to be fair, it is quite significant. Therefore, from a moral standpoint, we would tend to suggest UC SysDef, while from a practical perspective, one could argue that the Crimson Fleet is the better choice.

No pressure, explorers.
