Starfield fans have designed impressive spaceships in the game, with one player creating a massive spaceship inspired by scorpions, showcasing the creativity enabled by the ship-building mechanics.
The scorpion spaceship not only stands out with its visually impressive design but also packs a lot of firepower, as its mechanical stinger is equipped with three powerful lasers.
The spaceship was built without the use of glitches or third-party software, and the player confirmed that they created it on a standard version of the game while playing on an Xbox console.
A Starfield fan with an obvious engineering inclination has built an incredible spaceship in the game that resembles a scorpion. Their ship is just one of many impressive creations found abundantly online within the Starfield community since the release of Bethesda's latest role-playing game.
Although shipbuilding in Starfield is a completely optional part of the game, the complexity achieved by Bethesda in implementing this mechanic has captivated a large portion of players in September. While some of these fans have focused on recreating famous ships in Starfield, others have directed their attention towards entirely original designs.
A particularly impressive example of this approach comes from Reddit user CostKey9800, who recently went to the effort of making their Starfield spaceship resemble a giant scorpion. With two pincers, multiple pairs of landing gear legs, and a massive stinger, their spaceship falls somewhere between a sight to be admired and a terrifying abomination to flee from, depending on one's comfort level with the predatory arachnids that inspired this complex engineering feat.
While large portions of the spaceship consist of structural modules—Starfield's jargon for purely cosmetic parts—it doesn't mean that this impressive spacecraft sacrifices function for form. On the contrary, the scorpion-shaped ship packs a lot of firepower. The creator confirmed that the mechanical stinger alone is equipped with three of the deadliest laser weapons in the game. The spaceship itself spans across nine levels, with three seemingly accessible interior spaces while the rest accommodates the massive pincers, tail, and stinger.
Although the creator of this breathtaking ship did not share a detailed parts list or breakdown of component placement for constructing the ship, they confirmed that the spaceship was designed on a standard version of the game and did not utilize any glitches or third-party software. In this context, the fan explained that they play Bethesda's latest game on an Xbox console, which means they couldn't simplify the shipbuilding process through modifications in Starfield. Even if that had been the case, current PC mods do not offer much support for complex designs, aside from slightly more responsive shipbuilding controls.
This impressive flying scorpion is another excellent example of the creativity enabled by the shipbuilding mechanics of the game. Another such example emerged online just last week in the form of a remarkable Starfield replica of the Titanic.
Starfield is now available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
