A player in Starfield is impressing the community with a custom spaceship inspired by Batman, showcasing stunning images of the fully black spacecraft.

The creator of the ship spent 15 hours perfecting the design, facing challenges in connecting the modules and placing the ladders.

Although they couldn't utilize the escape effects of the Mantis ship, the impressive design of the spacecraft offers other players the opportunity to attempt similar creations.

A Starfield player is impressing the game's community with pictures of their customized ship inspired by Batman's Batwing. The large ship is an impressive example of what a determined player can achieve with Starfield's ship customization system.

Starfield was released on September 6, following about a week in Early Access. Reports indicate that over 6 million copies were sold at launch, making it the biggest release Bethesda has ever seen. Among the many features of the game is the ability for players to build customized ships using prefabricated modules. Many players have been showcasing their designs on social media, including ships based on popular franchises from Star Wars to the Magic School Bus.

Reddit user bmikey recently showcased their customized spaceship inspired by Batman and shared several impressive images of the spacecraft. The ship is completely black, with the modules arranged into a body and two wings. While the creator did not show the interior, they mentioned that four ladders are required to travel between decks. However, if the goal was to create a ship that looks good in silhouette against the moon, this customized Starfield ship certainly fulfills its purpose.

They didn't provide too many details about how they designed their Starfield spaceship, although the Reddit user promised to provide a construction guide in a future post. However, it seems to have taken a lot of work as bmikey mentioned spending about 15 hours going through multiple iterations of the design. In particular, the ladders seemed to be a bit cumbersome. Starfield players cannot precisely determine where the ladders are placed but have to move and reconnect modules until the connections are where the player wants them. Even the creator of the ship couldn't design the interior exactly as they wanted, although some commentators had suggestions.

Another commentator also pointed out a major missed opportunity in the design of bmikey. Players who complete the Mantis mission in Starfield gain access to the Mantis space suit and spaceship. The Mantis is essentially the Starfield world's version of Batman and strikes fear into many space pirates. According to one commentator, it has a passive effect that sometimes causes Crimson Fleet ships to flee. This even works if players delete all the initial modules and create a completely new ship.

Unfortunately, bmikey was not aware of this ability and therefore could not utilize it in their ship design. However, that doesn't make the Batman-inspired ship any less impressive, especially considering the amount of effort put into its creation. Furthermore, this provides an excellent opportunity for other Starfield players who may want to try something similar.

Starfield is out on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
