Some Starfield players on Steam and Xbox Game Pass have been unable to unlock the achievement "For All, Into the Starfield" since the game's release, affecting approximately 25% of players.
The issue appears to be a bug that primarily affects PC players, while owners of Xbox consoles are not reporting similar problems.
It is likely that Bethesda will address this issue with future updates, as they have a history of providing support and regular patches for their games.
Some Starfield players have reported issues on social media regarding unlocking one of the early achievements in the game. The specific problem appears to affect both the Steam and Xbox Game Pass versions of Starfield.
With Starfield reaching six million players within a day of its full release, Bethesda's space RPG has already claimed the title of the studio's biggest launch in history. However, over a quarter of the game's player base on Xbox consoles and PC Game Pass have yet to unlock the "For All, Into the Starfield" achievement since this milestone over a week ago. For context, this trophy is awarded for the first time entering space and typically requires no more than an hour to unlock. Additionally, 13.3% of Starfield owners on Steam are also missing the same achievement as of September 14th.
While these numbers may suggest that Starfield has failed to reach a significant portion of the players who have tried it, it appears that the aforementioned percentages are distorted due to a bug. At least, that's what several fans claim who recently surfaced on Reddit, stating that they were never able to unlock the game's introductory achievement. Their reports came in response to a post by Reddit user Chonph, who wondered how it could be possible that a quarter of the RPG player base, outside of Steam, still hasn't used a spaceship in a game about space exploration.
While the claims about this achievement bug come from both PC Game Pass and Steam users, so far it appears that no Xbox console owners have shared similar experiences online. This fact suggests that the issue is exclusive to the PC platform and may therefore also affect the Windows Store version of Starfield.
And while the exact scope of the reported error is unclear, such issues are typically a relatively straightforward fix for any developer. The space RPG has already received two updates since the beginning of the month, with the latest update bringing Starfield to version 1.7.29. Bethesda's support history suggests that many more updates will follow, so hopefully, one of them will address this apparent issue with the "For All, Into the Starfield" achievement.
Some of the PC players of the game may also be missing the trophy because they have used console commands or mods that disable achievements by default. However, this behavior can be easily bypassed by using Starfield mods that re-enable achievements. Currently, there are two such mods available.
Starfield is now available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
