Individual customizations or the construction of Vasco units in Starfield could enhance the gaming experience and render the companion even more endearing.
The notion proposed by a fan on Reddit encompasses various designs and colors for Vasco, thereby providing a multitude of customization options.
The implementation of customizable companions in Starfield could enhance player freedom and replayability, and it is possible that Bethesda is considering the addition of this feature through DLC.
A player of Starfield has shared an idea to create individual Vasco units or build them from scratch. Vasco is a robotic companion in Starfield, who will be the first companion players encounter, but this concept could provide a way to make him even better.
Prior to the release of Starfield, Vasco was already a popular character through its promotional material. In Starfield, Vasco is the expedition robot of the Constellation, manufactured by Lunar Robotics, and players will encounter him early in the game. Like other companions in Starfield, players can load Vasco with excess loot. In addition to this useful function, Vasco also offers unique dialogue options and can engage in combat during firefights. Although Vasco is already an advanced Starfield robot, a fan has an idea to further enhance him.
Recently, Reddit user Spartansoldier-175 shared several images in a post, highlighting their Starfield idea. The Starfield fan appears to have a fondness for Vasco, and the screenshots focus on different designs that the robot should be able to switch between. The images range from a massive, tank-like robot to a dog-like quadruped. Perhaps inspired by the Automatron DLC from Fallout 4, Spartansoldier-175 explains that their idea would allow players to customize their Vasco similar to the Starfield spaceship or create one from scratch. Similar to some Fallout titles, there is a variety of resources that Starfield players can gather. These resources would likely be used to create different parts of the individually designed Vasco.
In addition to modifying Vasco's design with Spartansoldier-175's idea, the color could also be customized to create the ideal robotic companion. Spartansoldier-175's Starfield images include black, blue, gold, red, and white robots. The color scheme would likely be limited to those used by the Starfield ship designer. As Starfield ships have their limitations, changes to Vasco would likely be restricted as well. Although many Starfield players appreciate Vasco since the game's launch, the ability to customize him could turn the companion into a clear fan favorite.
The addition of another customizable element to Starfield could further emphasize player freedom and increase replayability. If implemented, it is likely that players would have to visit Lunar Robotics in Starfield to modify their companion Vasco. Given that Bethesda has previously added robot building through DLC in other games, there is a possibility that this idea will eventually be implemented in Starfield. Although some fans desire this customization, it remains unclear what Bethesda has planned for Starfield DLCs.
Starfield is now available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
