Starfield players have discovered how to steal the clothing of NPCs

Starfield presents a rather impressive selection of clothing for all the fashion-conscious individuals out there. However, every now and then, one comes across an NPC donning a particularly attractive suit or outfit that surpasses one's own garments. If one were playing Skyrim, they could simply adopt a discreet position and attempt to undress the person right then and there. Yet, Starfield does not provide a feature that allows for the theft of NPCs' clothing. Even killing someone does not grant the ability to remove clothing from the victim's body.

Fortunately, a determined Starfield player has managed to steal NPCs' clothing and has indeed found a solution. It is somewhat intricate and requires a certain level of preparation, but by accumulating enough points in the social skill tree and unlocking the manipulation ability, one can steal the clothing of any individual—albeit only if they are willing to commit murder.

For the first time discovered and shared on the Starfield subreddit by u/Zorping, one can utilize the manipulation ability to prompt a nearby NPC to "inspect" the body of a person you have killed. This action transfers all items, including the clothing worn by the deceased, to the NPC. Subsequently, you can proceed to murder the person on whom you applied the manipulation in order to plunder their belongings, which also includes the clothing of the initially killed individual.

As previously mentioned, it is quite intricate and necessitates committing a double murder solely to obtain fashionable clothing. However, the possibility exists if one is desperate enough. In fact, you can even mitigate some of the risks by employing a small trick that allows you to kill people without being apprehended yourself. It was discovered this month that if you strike a guard or an NPC forcefully enough on the head with any object, you can actually inflict harm upon them without provoking them. Eventually, they will perish, and you will have committed a murder in broad daylight with impunity.

Armed with this knowledge, you can now murder and steal clothing at your leisure, without the risk of being thrown into prison. However, be aware that you cannot do this with important quest givers, as they will not actually die regardless of your actions. Nevertheless, there are numerous mods available for such situations, ensuring that your killing spree need not come to a premature halt.

In other Starfield news, an extremely dedicated player has taken it upon themselves to showcase the full potential of the game's outpost building tools by constructing an absolutely enormous factory, encompassing a foundation of 3,000 floor mats.
