Starfield - Quest Guide: "Into The Unknown"

The main story of Starfield initially revolves around acquiring various artifacts, but you will slowly discover how these artifacts can help you. This begins during the quest "Into The Unknown," where you meet Vladimir and learn about another member of the constellation named Andreja.

He will first ask you to visit a few planets and find Andreja for him. Once you have done that and reported back, he will tell you about a secret power possessed by the artifacts and give you a specific location where you can learn more about it. This location is where you obtain your first power in the game.

How To Find Andreja

After introducing yourself to Vladimir at the beginning of the quest "Into The Unknown," he will tell you that he sent an agent named Andreja on a mission and hasn't heard from her for a while. He will ask you to find her and give you the names of two planets where she could be. These planets are randomly selected and will vary for each player.

On one of these planets, you will find a random artifact in a cave, while Andreja will be located in an underground facility overrun by Eclipse enemies. When you first find her, you will witness Andreja killing someone. However, she will refuse to talk about it at the moment and ask for your help in reclaiming another artifact.

Once you have both artifacts, report back to Vladimir, and he will tell you about an anomaly on a planet called Procyon III. There, you can obtain your first power.

How To Find And Solve Temple Eta's Puzzle

Once you reach the planet Procyon III and land at the scanner anomaly, you will be prompted to follow some distortions on your scanner. These distortions are visible when you rotate your screen while in scanner mode. At certain angles, you will see the white lines on the scanner being distorted with an RGB effect.

This will initially happen with a wide field of view, but it will slowly narrow down as you continue walking towards the distortion. Eventually, you will reach the Eta Temple and can enter it through one of the two doors on each side. These doors are located between two tall walls, making them easy to find.

Inside the temple, you simply have to walk through a group of glowing particles that form at random locations to activate the portal in the center. Step into the center of the portal to receive your first ability, which is the ability to create a low-gravity area for enemies. The quest ends once you have presented this ability to everyone in the Lodge.
