There are many reasons why gamers can appreciate Starfield, but one fan is grateful that the game saved them from a fire. The sudden threat was handled well by the player, and they openly praise Starfield for potentially making the difference between survival and losing everything.

Starfield fans are just getting the opportunity to play the game, and so far, Bethesda's latest release has received a lot of praise. While the game is not without its flaws, many have noted that it has significantly fewer bugs than the average Bethesda game at the time of release. Many fans are already playing in the early access phase on Steam. The early hype has paid off for this player who quickly became obsessed with the game.

Reddit user tidyckilla turned to the Starfield subreddit to share their experience with a fire in an apartment complex and how Starfield played a role in saving their family's lives. Tidyckilla mentions being excited about the game for years since the first hints of its existence circulated. Therefore, they were thrilled to have pre-ordered the Starfield Premium Edition to be able to play it a few days before the official launch. On August 31st, they started the game and decided to play for as long as they could. This decision proved to be the right one as they were wide awake when a sudden explosion occurred on the ground floor at 2 a.m.

Tidyckilla checked the hallway for signs of excitement and discovered flames in the stairwell. They acted quickly and safely evacuated their wife and cat from the apartment. Although Tidyckilla mentioned that at least one of them suffered minor burns, they survived to tell the tale. While some Starfield fans questioned in the comments how someone could sleep through an explosion, Tidyckilla noted that their wife was actually still asleep when they got her out. Although they had a smoke detector, it only went off after they were already fleeing. If more time had passed, the fire or smoke could have caused serious damage or even killed a member of their household.

Apparently, their gaming system also survived the incident, as they continued to play Starfield in the hotel they moved to. Tidyckilla was grateful to both Starfield and Todd Howard for helping them cope with this traumatic event. While Bethesda games are memorable and entertaining for millions of people, only a few will have a memory of playing Starfield intertwined with an experience like this.
