In Starfield, it is important to manage your inventory and find places to sell items. Bars in large cities are great for selling supplies and accessing mission boards.
The UC Distribution Center and Jemison Mercantile are mentioned as recommended places to buy and sell items in Starfield, with a wide selection of goods. Reliant Medical is a good source for medical supplies and healing negative status effects.
While playing Starfield and exploring various locations, you will constantly collect random items that quickly fill up your inventory. The game is quite strict when it comes to managing inventory, and you will either have to discard items quickly or find a place to sell them promptly.
You can find various capital cities, and each of them is filled with traders, but it can still be difficult to find the right merchant when you want to sell a specific item. However, there are a few easily accessible places where you can sell almost anything in your inventory.
8 Bars In Major Cities
Whenever you enter a large city like New Atlantis, Neon, or Akila in Starfield, you will often see bars right as you enter the main doors. These bars are great for several reasons, but the main one is that you can purchase various aids that can strengthen you in different ways. Some of these items can also heal your ailments.
You can also sell your aids to the bartenders here, but be careful not to sell items that can treat negative status effects. Another benefit of these bars is the availability of mission boards and self-service bounty clearing boards. The first board can earn you some easy money, while the latter can save you a few of those.
7 Enhance!
Enhance! may not be a traditional merchant, but it still deserves a place on this list. This shop, with the same name, can be found in every major city, and you can give the NPC here 500 credits to return to the customization screen that you saw at the beginning of the game.
You can change everything about the appearance of your character, except for their clothing, and do so for only 500 credits. This can be done as often as you like, giving you a lot of flexibility.
6 UC Distribution Center
The UC Distribution Center may not look like a traditional merchant shop from the outside, but it is undoubtedly one of the best places to buy and sell any desired item. You can reach this location by landing in New Atlantis and using the transit system to reach the commercial district in the area. Once you arrive, go straight ahead, and you will see the building on your right side.
When you speak to the lady behind the counter here, you will find that she has items from all the tabs in the game. This means you can sell her anything as long as it's not contraband. However, her maximum amount of trader credits is quite low, so you will need to reset this shop many times.
5 Jemison Mercantile
Jemison Mercantile can also be found in New Atlantis, but it is much easier to reach than the UC Distribution Center. To get here, simply land in New Atlantis and turn left after the slope. Go back up the slope and continue straight to find this building on the right side of The Viewport.
Since Jemison Mercantile is so easy to reach, it is also one of the most flexible traders in the game, as its inventory consists of both common and rare items.
4 Reliant Medical
The Reliant Medical Group is essentially the hospital of Starfield, and you will find a store of this group in every major city. Once you enter, you will see a doctor sitting in a chair, and he will ask if you need his help. You can talk to this doctor and have all your negative status effects cured for a small fee.
Furthermore, you can also ask for medical supplies. This is a great place to stock up on med packs and a variety of other tools that can heal your ailments on the go. You can also have some attributes removed by this merchant.
3 Mining League
The Mining League is a unique store that can only be found in the city of Neon, but it's quite hard to miss once you're here. As the name suggests, this store is known for having an abundance of resources that you can use for crafting, research, building outposts, or upgrading your equipment.
You can still find these resources at some of the providers mentioned above, but the quantity is much higher at the Mining League, allowing you to stack them. However, you won't find any other craftable materials like Adaptive Frame here, as it only contains raw resources.
2 Ship Services
You will find ship service providers before entering a city. They can either be standing near the landing area or sitting inside a nearby building. The majority of your journey through the Starfield will involve traveling from one star system to another, and there is a high probability of getting involved in space battles along the way.
This battle may be easy at the beginning of the game, but in order to keep up with the increase in enemy levels, you will need to either significantly modify or upgrade your ship. All of this can be done with the help of these ship service technicians, and they have quite a selection of ships for you to browse through.
1 Trade Authority
No matter how much you search, the Trade Authority will undoubtedly be the best provider you will find in Starfield. This company not only has a store in the major cities but also in remote areas like The Den. Additionally, you will find their kiosk at almost every outpost landing site.
The best thing about this provider is that you can sell your stolen and contraband items here. Of course, you still have to pass through some scanners unless you go to The Den. However, note that you cannot sell these contraband items at the kiosk.
