Regardless of whether you have chosen the "Raised Enlightened" feature when creating your character in Starfield, you can still visit the House of the Enlightened and embark upon the quest titled "The Kindness of Strangers." Starfield introduces numerous factions and religions, immersing you right from the start into the bustling world of New Atlantis, the pristine city of the United Colony, or so it appears from an external perspective.

Deep in the well, the impoverished citizens of New Atlantis struggle for survival amidst the dilapidated slums. Nevertheless, amidst the Wells, there exist numerous businesses and services, and it is here that you will encounter Andy Singh, a follower of the House of the Enlightened.

How To Get The Kindness Of Strangers Quest

During the "One Small Step" mission, on your initial visit to New Atlantis, you have the opportunity to undertake the quest titled "The Kindness of Strangers." You will receive this quest by volunteering to assist Andy Singh in safely escorting Tahir Vala from the Medbay in the Wells back to their home.

Andy can be found in the House of the Enlightened. To reach there, take the elevator located between Terrabrew Coffee and Jemison's Mercantile in the Spaceport District of New Atlantis - the very place where you disembark from your Frontier spacecraft.

The House of the Enlightened is located approximately in the center of the atrium accessed by the elevator. The building's sign is worn out, making it easily overlooked. A bounty hunter leans against the wall of the building near the staircase that leads to the entrance of the House of the Enlightened.

The Kindness Of Strangers Overview

Andy Singh will pay you 2,000 credits to assist in escorting the recently discharged patient named Tahir Vala back home to Sub 17, a poverty-stricken district of the Wells. Along the way, you must pick up a meal for Tahir from Kay's House.

This straightforward quest will grant you the following rewards:

• 2,000 Credits
• 150 XP

The Kindness Of Strangers: Pick Up The Patient From The Medbay

Tahir is sitting outside in the Medbay area of The Wells. Right next to him is a green medical sign, making it impossible to overlook. Tahir has suffered a rather severe leg injury, and although he has been discharged from the Medbay, his leg is still weak, necessitating your safe escorting him back home. A UC security officer offers to take Tahir home, but he declines, as he doesn't trust the UC.

Tahir will be cautious when you offer him assistance, as he doesn't understand why you would help him. Choose the following dialogue option to gain Tahir's trust:

• "Not a scam. Just Andy Singh"

Tahir explains that he would rather owe something to Andy and the House of the Enlightened than to the UC, and he accepts your offer. However, before heading to Sub 17, you must make a stop at Kay's House to pick up a meal for Tahir.

The Kindness Of Strangers: Stop By Kay's For A Home Cooked Meal

Kay's House is located as you make your way back to the House of the Enlightened. Once you've passed through the door to the atrium, take a left turn to find Kay's House.

Speak to Kay Mason about the meal, and Tahir will explain that he doesn't have any credits for it. Kay will inquire about who the meal is for, and you have the following dialogue options:

• "It's for Tahir."
• "It's for me, I'm starving."

If you tell Kay that the meal is for Tahir, she will provide the meal to him free of charge. She explains that she has already spoken with Andy and that the meal is "on the house."

The Kindness Of Strangers: Escort The Patient Home

Next, you must safely escort Tahir back home, which you can achieve by returning to the Medbay and turning left towards Sub 17. Follow the corridor until you reach the soccer goal.

Once you have arrived at Tahir's home, you can give him the soup by selecting the following dialogue options:

• [Miso Soup] “Before you go, here is your soup.”

Tahir will explain that it has been a long time since he had a warm meal. He will express gratitude for your assistance and share that he feels a weight lifted off him, a sensation he hasn't experienced in a long time. With that, the quest "The Kindness of Strangers" is completed, and you receive 150 experience points.
