Tears of the Kingdom: Pre-orders for the Zelda and Ganondorf amiibos are now available

It's not often that one of the biggest highlights of a Direct presentation is the introduction of new Nintendo amiibos, but that was exactly the case on Thursday. Amidst the news about a long list of upcoming Mario games, it was confirmed that Sora will indeed be receiving an amiibo, completing the Ultimate Collection in 2024. Additionally, release dates for a range of other upcoming amiibos were announced, including Tears of the Kingdom's Zelda and Ganondorf, which are now available for pre-order.

Link is so far the only main character from the latest Legend of Zelda game to receive an amiibo. Therefore, it took a while for Zelda and Ganondorf, whose figures have already been unveiled, to be added. Both will be released on November 3, 2023, and pre-orders for the Hyrule duo began shortly after the Direct presentation ended. If you didn't hesitate for too long, you should be able to secure your amiibos through the links below.

In addition to their good looks, and in the case of Ganondorf, even great looks, the new amiibos also have a purpose. When you connect them to your Switch while playing Tears of the Kingdom, you unlock new fabrics for your paraglider. That is the main use of amiibos in the latest Zelda game. Even figures released before Tears of the Kingdom give Link's paraglider a new appearance. However, by using them, Link obtains the fabric. The swordsman then needs to go to the dye shop in Hateno Village to actually change the appearance of his paraglider.

Tears Of The Kingdom Ganondorf Amiibo

Ganondorf's appearance in Tears of the Kingdom, which received great acclaim from many fans upon its release, now has its own amiibo. Alongside a new Zelda figure, it was announced and will be available from November 2023.

The prices for Zelda and Ganondorf seem to be slightly different for some reason. While the new Princess amiibo costs $16, Ganondorf's amiibo is slightly more expensive at $20. I'm not entirely sure why this is the case, except that Ganondorf's amiibo is slightly larger, so I assume the manufacturing costs are higher.

Tears Of The Kingdom Zelda Amiibo

Zelda's first amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom depicts the princess holding the repaired Master Sword. While tapping the figure on your Switch won't actually repair the legendary sword, it will unlock a unique new fabric for your paraglider.

In addition to Sora, Zelda, and Ganondorf, Nintendo has also announced release dates for the previously revealed Xenoblade Chronicles 3 amiibos. Noah and Mio can be added to your collection starting from January 19, 2024. Pre-orders for these amiibos are also available if you search carefully, including the convenient double pack featuring both characters.

In addition to all the aforementioned, although not shown during the recent Direct presentation, new Splatoon 3 amiibos will also be released before the end of the year. Big Man, Shiver, and Frye will all have their debut figures soon, and although pre-orders have been hard to come by, Big Man's amiibo was restocked at Target earlier this week.
